Job Description

We are very excited to offer the opportunity for a highly sought after Senior Mental Health Intake Clinician role at Epworth Camberwell. This is a part time role (0.6 FTE).

Based at a Grade 3 level, the role will provide specialist mental health assessment and therapeutic care within the private mental health sector.

To be successful, you must be passionate about recovery orientated mental health service provision, experienced in the delivery of a range of psychological interventions (group and individual) with a focus in DBT and in providing targeted psychological therapies for people experiencing mental ill-health.

This is a multidisciplinary role and is open to Social Workers, Occupation Therapists, Psychologists and Registered Mental Health Nurses. 

As a part of our incredible Epworth Clinic Allied Health team, reporting to the Mental Health Program Manager, you will have autonomy in managing your day to day caseload, access to ongoing professional development opportunities as well as links to our wider team within our Epworth network. You will make an impact by:

  • Undertaking clinical triage and assessments for therapeutic programs
  • Providing evidence-based practice for group and individual therapy, within inpatient, outpatient and private practice settings
  • Providing supervision where applicable
  • Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

You will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience
  • Previous experience in undertaking triage within a mental health setting, completing comprehensive mental health clinical assessment of patients referred to Epworth Clinic and facilitating access to appropriate therapeutic services to support treatment goals
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering group and individual therapy
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (essential), as well as ACT, CBT, Compassion Focussed Therapy and Mindfulness (desirable)
  • Experience in working with eating disorders, AOD, complex trauma and/or ADHD is highly desirable

Qualifications

For Psychology applicants

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or equivalent
  • Psychologist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

For Social Work applicants

  • Bachelor of Social Work and eligible for membership with the Australian Association for Social Workers (AASW)

For Occupational Therapist applicants

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent as recognised by the World Federation of Occupational Therapy and
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

For Nursing applicants

  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia [NMBA]
  • Current nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (APHRA)
  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration and have a current Medicare provider number (or be eligible)
