Senior operations manager first mile (Logistics operations)

As Senior operations manager first mile, you are developing and continuously improving ReBound’s 
global logistics operations network. This role offers the opportunity to manage a critical part of 
ReBound’s global logistics network for returns and contribute to delivering the ultimate sustainable 
returns experience to our clients worldwide. 

Your primary objective is the performance of the global logistics first mile network setup to handle and be prepared for growth in the retail and ecommerce returns market. You provide excellent operational knowledge in your focus area, lead the development and execution of the first mile category strategy, and lead a team of professionals that source and manage first mile providers globally, and deliver ReBound’s operations strategy and first mile category strategy with excellence. 

Key Responsibilities

Your focus:

• Ensure best-in-class first mile carrier solutions by leading the development and execution of 
a procurement category strategy for first mile solutions

• Leading and managing a team that co-develops and delivers ReBound’s first mile strategy, 
ensuring excellence in day-to-day performance, while bringing latest innovation to our 
portfolio. You report to the director of global logistics. Work with your manager, peers and 
support roles, to maintain and develop the network.

• Ensuring sound spend management, analytics and insights in order to ensure competitive 
buying with a focus on margin, budgeting and cost control

• Understand the industry, find innovation opportunities, work with your development team 
on and contribute to solution design

• Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure an aligned optimization and innovation plan 
is created and executed, that the team are updating, tracking and informing of issues they see 
in the network. Review processes and work with Product and IT on automating wherever 
possible. 

• Responsible to develop and maintain contract agreements with suppliers, and maintain
documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures.

• Full ownership of the carrier relationship, managing carrier failures, ensuring performance 
management following a clear supplier relationship management model.

• Monitor and report on performance. Keep in transit orders within lead-time SLA.

• Ensure any service provider is bought in with ReBound’s strategy, and that service providers
are solutions focused.

• Provide proactive support to other department employees, be a team player, help build 
working relationships with all members of the department and develop levels of expertise 
that other department employees can utilize and leverage.

• Drive and deliver the roadmap for your department. Ensure active and complete participation 
in organization projects. Participate in training, education, and testing at user acceptance, 
identify and provide feedback to product owners, identify and support to resolve challenges, 
and areas of concern prior to go live.

• You are people manager and team leader with 5 to 10 years of leadership experience in 
Logistics and Supply Chain.

• With your strong analytical skills, eye for detail and willingness to go the extra mile, you are a 
master in developing relationships with suppliers, and a leader in guiding your team to 
negotiate best possible deals.

• Ability to prioritise items of work and stay calm under pressure.

• Relationship builder that fosters collaboration with your suppliers and colleagues.
