AECOM is seeking a Senior Power System Studies I in Western Australia to lead load flow and broader power system analyses as part of the renewables transition. You will deliver steady state and dynamic load flow studies, short circuit, arc flash, stability and reliability assessments, translating robust engineering findings into actionable client recommendations across wind, solar, BESS, hydro and hybrid assets connected to transmission and distribution networks. Ideal candidates bring 6 plus years in grid connection or power system studies, familiarity with DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD or similar tools, and experience with Australian or New Zealand standards. You’ll mentor others, contribute to client proposals and budgets, collaborate across remote offices and enjoy flexible work arrangements; Perth base is preferred but other offices may be possible. Apply promptly as postings may close early.

Deliver Power System Studies including Load Flow analysis, providing comprehensive analysis with advice and recommendations grounded in robust engineering and power studies, supporting the renewable energy transition. This role enables you to play an important part in the planning, initiating, and optimising of complex and varied generation assets into the energy system, during an exciting and rapidly changing time in the renewable energy sector.
Ideally based in Perth Western Australia (there is scope to be based out of other AECOM offices), you will be part of a passionate team of Energy technical, project and client teams with a focus on making a difference. You will be a key part of the team, providing input and technical knowledge across the Power System Studies discipline, working across a very broad range of project types. You will be part of the team that is enabling renewable power generation to successfully, safely and appropriately be connected across complex grid and transmission assets. You will thrive in supporting detailed analysis, solving complex technical challenges while also be able to understand the key part your role plays in connecting wind, solar, BESS, hydro and alternative fuel generation assets to transmission and distribution assets.
How you will make a difference
To be successful in this role at AECOM, you will be both experienced delivering Power System Studies and looking to be part of a larger team focused on making a difference across the Energy and Renewables sector. You will be known for your power studies, analysis and technical abilities as well as how to interpret and present highly technical findings, that align with specific client, site and project requirements. Importantly, you will be looking to develop your career and the impact you can have, across the Power Systems Studies discipline.
The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, as all applications will be considered.
