HCL Technologies Limited is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist with deep expertise in DevOps, Python, and Kubernetes. This full-time, onsite role in GB is built for someone who can design, implement, and maintain innovative technical solutions using these technologies. If you enjoy shaping automation, scripting, and container orchestration, you could be a great fit.

The company is looking for a hands-on technologist who can translate requirements into reliable, repeatable processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed DevOps practices into deployment pipelines. You’ll be expected to stay current with the latest trends in DevOps, Python, and Kubernetes to drive continuous improvement, delivering scalable and robust solutions that teams can rely on.

In this role, the focus is on turning complex needs into practical technical outcomes. The Senior Technical Specialist will work with development, operations, and product teams to enable faster, more reliable software delivery while ensuring environments remain stable and secure.

Shaping automation and reliability in your daily work

Day to day, you’ll design, develop, and implement robust DevOps solutions that automate software development processes and boost efficiency across projects. You’ll build and refine tooling and workflows that streamline how teams ship code, test, and release updates.

You’ll use Python to craft scripts and utilities that simplify system administration and automation tasks, turning repetitive work into repeatable processes and clear, maintainable code. You’ll also take ownership of Kubernetes clusters, guiding their deployment, scaling, and ongoing performance tuning to keep applications responsive and reliable.

Collaboration matters here: you’ll partner with cross-functional teams to embed DevOps best practices and automate deployment pipelines, while troubleshooting issues that arise across DevOps, Python, and Kubernetes environments. Keeping an eye on industry trends, you’ll push for continuous improvement and better practices as the tech landscape evolves.

What to bring to the table

Here's the core set of qualifications the team is looking for

  • Hands-on experience building and operating DevOps toolchains with Jenkins, Git, Docker, and Ansible
  • Strong Python skills for scripting, automation, and application development
  • Experience deploying and running containerized applications on Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how to apply best practices to software delivery
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail
  • Clear communication and teamwork to collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment

Nice-to-haves to boost your candidacy

  • Certifications in DevOps, Python, or Kubernetes would be a plus

Compensation and practical details

This is a full-time, onsite position based in GB.

Tips for making a strong case

Lead your resume with the DevOps, Python, and Kubernetes experience, and front-load mentions of the tooling you’ve used, Jenkins, Git, Docker, and Ansible, to show you can hit the ground running.

Demonstrate the must-have skills with concrete examples: describe projects where you built CI/CD pipelines, deployed containerized apps on Kubernetes, and applied IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation. Quantify impact where possible, such as deployment frequency improvements or reduced mean time to recovery.

Be ready to walk through real troubleshooting scenarios that involve DevOps, Python, and Kubernetes, and explain how you approached the issue, what the outcome was, and what you would do differently next time to improve resilience.

Ask a targeted question about their current Kubernetes footprint and deployment practices, and how they measure success for DevOps initiatives. For instance, you could inquire about the scale of their clusters, their approach to automation, and which metrics matter most to the team.
