WSH GroupWSH Group is hiring for BaxterStorey to staff a catering site in Inchinnan, Scotland. The Catering Assistant & Cashier role is full-time and onsite, based at Newmains Ave, Inchinnan, Renfrew PA4 9RR, UK. The hourly rate is £13.44, with a 37.5-hour week. It’s a hands-on post that blends front-of-house service, cash handling and light kitchen support, ideal for someone who cares about customers and enjoys being part of a busy catering team.
The job sits with BaxterStorey, a client of WSH Group, and you’ll work closely with the Chef Manager and the broader team to deliver friendly service while upholding high standards across the operation. A day in the life on site
On a typical day you’ll manage till operations, processing payments accurately and handling daily cashing up as well as weekly banking in line with established procedures. You’ll also keep the operation fresh by updating the point‑of‑sale tablets with current menus and promotions, so the counter reflects what’s available.
Part of your rhythm will involve food safety and health and safety duties, including helping with records like temperature checks and cleaning logs. You’ll set up the counter, replenish displays and serve food and drinks with a friendly, customer‑macing approach, ensuring guests have a smooth experience.
Deliveries and stock come into play too: you’ll check deliveries, store items promptly, rotate stock and keep storage areas neatly organised. When needed, you’ll lend a hand with washing up and general kitchen duties, keeping the workspace tidy and compliant with hygiene standards.
Overall, the role mixes hands‑on service with practical kitchen support, and you’ll be comfortable performing tasks both as part of a team and independently after you’re trained.

Advice for applicants
Lead your resume with any cash-handling and customer-service experience you’ve had, even if it was in a part-time or school role. Demonstrate you can handle payments, balance a till and support a busy front of house, then show you’re comfortable using tablets and basic admin tasks.
When you describe your must‑have skills, back them with concrete examples: a time you processed a payment accurately, a moment you updated a digital menu or promo, and a scenario where you supported food safety or cleaning records to keep a space compliant.
Prepare for interviews by thinking through how you’d handle a busy service window, how you maintain hygiene under pressure, and how you contribute to a clean, welcoming environment for guests. Have a short story ready about a time you helped a customer or kept a space tidy during a peak period.
End with a thoughtful question that shows you’re thinking about growth and onboarding, for example: what does the initial training plan look like for the till system and health-and-safety records, and how does the site measure success and progression within BaxterStorey at this location?
