Mashreq seeks a SEVP - Compliance in the IBG Injaz-Compliance Division for the UAE, a full‑time onsite role. You will implement recommendations from international bodies (UN, EU, FATF, Basel, Wolfsberg), ensure sanctions compliance (OFAC, EU, UN), and keep the bank’s sanctions matrix current. The role requires advising on compliant solutions, flagging strategic risks, and intervening to halt transactions not aligned with regulatory requirements. You’ll provide assurance that branch processes meet rules, escalate critical issues, and support regulatory approvals for new branches, licenses, product launches, outsourcing and M&A. To apply, highlight examples of leading sanctions programs, cross-branch rollouts, collaboration with HO-Compliance, and demonstrated impact in risk reduction, plus readiness to work onsite in UAE.
Implement recommendations made by international bodies such as United Nations, European Union, FATF, Basel, Wolfsberg etc. Ensure compliance of various sanctions embargos such as OFAC, EU, UN etc. and ongoing update of bank's sanctions matrix.Support business by providing compliant solutions and/or identifying strategic risks. Intervene where necessary to stop a transaction, process business proposal if not in compliance with the regulatory requirements and/or international best practices.
Provide assurance to Management that all processes/controls at IBG branches are in line with regulatory requirements. Pro-actively escalate critical issues (compliance / regulatory) that affect the bank; take timely actions to ensure bank/branch is not investigated, charged, fined or publicly castigated by any regulatory authority in any location.
Assist business in obtaining regulatory approvals wherever possible; New Branches / representative office Licenses, Product Launches, Outsourcing, Mergers / Acquisitions etc.
Participate and support HO-Compliance in bank wide projects relating to Compliance, provide input/recommendations, conduct special investigations I reviews. Roll-out systems and initiatives across IBG branches as per the guidelines of HO Compliance
