Position Overview

This role primarily fuels, adds oil and washes trucks and equipment at our quarry location.  Additionally, this position acts as a support technician to the mechanic located at the quarry. During the summer, the hours are approximately 3 pm to 11 pm and during the winter, the hours are approximately 10 am to 6 pm.  During the slow season (November – March), the shop support role may be required to work in the shop (at the quarry or main shop) performing maintenance on trucks and equipment and around the shop. This position requires a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.

Wage Range: $21 to $26 per hour dependent on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fuel, oil, and wash trucks and equipment.
  • Lubricate and clean part
  • Basic servicing of equipment as necessary
  • Other duties assigned per supervisor

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Standard drivers license preferred

 

Work Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
