Main goal

The Intern provides vital support to the Social & Environmental Sustainability (SES) division in the implementation of the UEFA Football Sustainability Strategy 2030, whose mission to inspire, activate and accelerate collective action across European football. The sustainability strategy is formulated around 11 policies covering social impact, respect for the environment and responsible management. For each policy, it defines a goal for 2030 ambition, specific targets and key performance indicators.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting the day-to-day implementation of the sustainability policies, especially awareness-raising, advocacy and training activities
  • Contributing to the development and roll‑out of specific projects, including conducting research, collecting and analysing data, producing guidance documents and slide decks and supporting dissemination efforts
  • Providing administrative support (e.g. making logistical arrangements, managing calendars, assisting with budgeting processes and RFP procedures, helping with event preparation, filing, etc.)
  • Helping to organise meetings of sustainability managers throughout the European football community
  • Liaising with stakeholders within UEFA to coordinate the effective delivery of activities
  • Staying informed of emerging trends and best practices in sustainability in sport and compiling briefings for the team

Requirements

Experience:

  • Work experience in an international environment is an asset

Education:

  • University degree with a focus on sustainable development topics

Languages:

  • Fluent oral and written English

Other requirements:

  • Relocation to Switzerland/France is expected
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of relevant international frameworks and standards relating to social and environmental sustainability
  • Affinity and familiarity with sport, and football in particular
  • Good organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
  • Motivation, team spirit and a service‑oriented mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
