Responsibilities
About XPENG XPENG is a global AI and technology company building intelligent mobility solutions that transform how people move, connect and experience the world. Founded in China and operating across Europe, XPENG brings together advanced AI, software, robotics, design and next generation mobility. Our vehicles are one expression of a much broader ambition: to make intelligent technology more human, intuitive and accessible. In Europe, we are building a distinctive brand at the intersection of technology, culture and human behaviour. We believe communication should be human first, emotion first and technology second, with products providing the proof. The opportunity We are looking for a hands-on Social Media Manager to independently execute XPENG Europe’s social media programme. Reporting to the European Communications Lead and working within the agreed European communications and brand strategy, you will turn priorities into weekly content, platform native assets and measurable campaigns across markets. This is an experienced individual contributor role with significant European scope, not a strategy-only or people management position. You will own the operational rhythm from planning through publication and evaluation: personally writing and editing copy, adapting assets, preparing briefs, coordinating approvals, managing production workflows, maintaining project controls and producing performance reports. You will also drive content scalability and synergy between countries, ensuring strong ideas and assets are reused intelligently rather than rebuilt market by market. What you will do - Own the build, maintenance and execution of the weekly European social media content calendar in line with the agreed strategy, brand narrative, launches and cultural moments. - Turn agreed European priorities into high quality, channel specific content and campaigns that work across borders and platforms while allowing for meaningful local adaptation. - Develop scalable, modular content packages that can be activated efficiently by multiple European markets and across different platforms. - Write, edit and proofread English social copy and independently prepare platform ready posts, briefs and publishing materials. - Create, resize and adapt social assets directly when needed, using design and editing tools to deliver agile, platform native content without compromising brand quality. - Collect input and assets from local markets, identify local stories with wider potential and turn the strongest ideas into reusable European content. - Proactively create synergies between markets by sharing assets, formats, learnings and best practices, coordinating joint opportunities and reducing duplicated work. - Manage day to day content alignment with the social media team at XPENG headquarters in China, providing clear briefs, European cultural context, consolidated feedback and consistent follow-through. - Own publication readiness across European social channels, ensuring copy, assets, links, formats, approvals and timings are correct before content goes live. - Coordinate social content production and live coverage around launches, test drive events and brand moments, ensuring shot lists, assets, deadlines and publishing responsibilities are agreed and completed. - Prepare clear creative and production briefs and coordinate agencies, designers, markets and internal stakeholders through approval, publication and evaluation. - Build and maintain detailed project plans, production timelines, approval flows and follow-up trackers, resolving bottlenecks independently and escalating strategic or reputational issues early. - Monitor platform developments, audience behaviour, cultural trends, regulations and emerging tools, and prepare practical optimisation proposals for review with the European Communications Lead. - Collect, validate and interpret performance data and produce monthly reports with clear insights on content, channels, markets and campaign effectiveness. - Maintain and improve European social media assets, briefs, agreements, performance data and best practices so teams can work efficiently and consistently. - Support launches and live moments across Europe and China, with the flexibility to work outside standard office hours when events, production schedules or real time opportunities require it.
Qualifications
What you bring - 6–8 years of relevant experience in social media, digital communications, content marketing or integrated brand communications. - A strong combination of agency and in-house experience is preferred, ideally gained with international technology, lifestyle, culture or design led brands. - Demonstrated hands-on experience managing complex content calendars, production and approval processes across multiple countries and stakeholders. - Substantial hands-on experience managing publishing, content production and live social coverage for launches, events or fast moving brand moments. - Excellent written and spoken English, with the judgement to write and edit precise, engaging copy for different audiences and platforms. - A university level standard of thinking and communication. A degree at university or university of applied sciences level is welcome, but relevant experience, judgement and capability matter most. - Strong understanding of major social platforms, their audiences, formats, algorithms, measurement methods and evolving regulatory environment. - Practical working knowledge of design and content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Figma or comparable editing platforms, with the ability to create and adapt assets independently. - A genuine interest in the intersection of technology, art, culture and human behaviour across different European cultures. - Proven ability to bridge cultural and working style differences between China, European headquarters, local markets, agencies and production partners. - Willingness to travel across Europe and to China for approximately 30% of the role. How you work Exceptionally organised: You create order in complexity, plan backwards from deadlines and keep multiple workstreams moving without losing detail. Relentless about follow-through: You document decisions, confirm owners and next steps, chase inputs constructively and close loops. Creative with sound judgement: You understand what makes content culturally relevant and emotionally engaging, and you know how to improve an idea without overcomplicating it. Proactive and accountable: You take ownership, surface risks early and arrive with solutions rather than waiting for direction. Calm under pressure: You remain precise and dependable during launches, events and last minute changes. Collaborative across cultures: You build trust, communicate clearly and adapt your approach without losing sight of the objective. What success looks like - A reliable European content rhythm with clear ownership, realistic lead times and consistently on-time delivery. - Strong operational alignment between the European team, HQ in China and local markets, with fewer missed handovers and less reactive last minute work. - More content reused and successfully adapted across multiple markets, reducing duplication while increasing quality, consistency and European reach. - Consistent execution of distinctive, platform native storytelling that brings XPENG Europe’s agreed brand narrative to life. - Accurate, timely publishing and high quality social coverage around launches, events and real time opportunities. - Reporting that goes beyond numbers and directly improves future content, channel choices and campaign execution. Why join XPENG? This is an opportunity to bring the European voice of one of the world’s most ambitious AI and mobility companies to life. You will work across markets, cultures and disciplines, with direct exposure to major launches, content productions, media moments and teams in both Europe and China. The pace is high, the scope is international and your execution will have visible impact. XPENG is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. We welcome candidates from different backgrounds who bring the skills, judgement and mindset to help us connect intelligent technology with real human lives.
