In this role, you'll:

 


Drive meaningful Aboriginal participation across Zero Emission Bus (ZEB) projects by identifying opportunities early in the planning stage, supporting procurement and project delivery teams, and ensuring contractors meet participation requirements. In this role, you will monitor performance, proactively identify risks, and provide timely advice to keep projects on track. Working closely with key stakeholders, you will help enhance outcomes and ensure delivery aligns with approved plans, budgets, and broader policy objectives.


The Specialist Aboriginal Participation (Zero Emission Bus) will be responsible for:

• Driving project and procurement teams to identify Aboriginal business opportunities early in planning.

• Monitoring contractor compliance with Aboriginal participation requirements and collecting supporting data and reports.

• Managing analysis and consolidation of KPIs and performance data, benchmarking outcomes against approved plans to improve delivery.

• Supporting program delivery by monitoring and evaluating Aboriginal participation, including managing risks, impacts, and quality measures.

• Providing early warning on emerging issues, recommending interventions, and aligning delivery with plans, budgets, and priorities.

• Coordinating reporting, stakeholder communication, risk reduction strategies, and capability development initiatives for Aboriginal businesses.


This is a fixed term full-time role (up to 29 December 2028) located at Parramatta.

This role can be filled through remote working and can be based anywhere in New South Wales. The roles require in person attendance on particular days of the week at your local TfNSW office.

This is an Aboriginal-identified role as it involves the development and delivery of services and programs which impact or require liaison with Aboriginal people and/or communities. About you

 


You are an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.

You have qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated experience.

You are experienced in delivering Aboriginal participation outcomes on complex projects, including early market engagement, supplier development and managing contract requirements.

You are confident in government procurement processes, participation policies and targets, as well as reporting and assurance (including risk, contingency and benefits).

You’re skilled at collecting, analysing and bringing together performance data (KPIs, milestones and dashboards) to support decision-making and escalate issues when needed.

You are a strong communicator who builds relationships easily, with experience engaging Aboriginal businesses and communities in a culturally informed way and influencing diverse project and procurement teams.
