General Civil Aviation Authority in Abu Dhabi is seeking a proactive Specialist - MRO to manage certification, approval and audit activities in line with the Technical Authority Manual, contribute to the annual oversight program, and keep Q-Pulse data current while directing investigations such as ROSI. You will support surveillance programs, drive corrective actions, and coordinate with ICAO and IMS, while maintaining comprehensive documentation of certifications and recommendations. The role emphasizes safety policy and culture, continuous improvement, and alignment with international standards through regulator liaison. Certification/Approval, Audit and Continued Oversight
Ensure that all certification/approval and audit is managed effectively in line with stipulated guidelines and issue relevant certificates/approvals and/or recommend certification/approval, as per the Technical Authority Manual.
Provide inputs in development of the annual oversight (audit and surveillance) program to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. Continued improvement towards safety should be considered as much as possible.
Ensure timely and up to date data in Q-Pulse (auditing system) to ensure compliance with GCAA’s roles and functions.
Ensure that investigations (e.g., ROSI) are carried out to determine the cause of incidents and prevent future occurrences and direct coordination with other disciplines (if necessary)
Surveillance Programs & Audit
Implement corrective actions raised against the Department during internal surveillance program to ascertain alignment of Safety Affairs standards in line with international standards and continuous improvement.
Support the administration of all auditing activities by external entities of Safety Affairs including ICAO, and IMS to ensure smooth and productive audit.
Document Management
Maintain a comprehensive record of relevant certification, reports, recommendations, and general documents to ensure an accurate record and evidence base.
Safety Policy / Safety Promotion and Culture
Assist in providing input into the identification of Acceptable Levels of Safety performance (ALOSP) to ensure appropriate and achievable targets are set.
Improve and implement safety promotion activities to disseminate and nurture a safety awareness culture in the UAE civil aviation industry and to keep industry players abreast of changes to relevant rules, regulations, and other aviation safety developments.
Provide advice, guidance, and recommendation to the Sector, sharing best practice, trends and the findings of reviews, studies, and investigations to prevent future occurrences/ incidents/accidents.
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
Assist the management in maintaining on-going liaison with foreign and international aviation regulatory bodies on new requirements and changes to existing safety regulations to foster the safe and orderly growth of UAE Civil Aviation.
Implement Safety Affairs policies, systems, processes, and procedures so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering high quality safety services to the UAE civil aviation industry in accordance with customer service standards.
Change Management
Implement the management of change through continuous improvement of functional systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
Reporting
Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet GCAA requirements and quality standards.
