Bombardier is seeking a Technologist Sr, Manufacturing Engineering in Québec to join its aerospace team. The company designs, builds and maintains high-performance aircraft for a broad range of clients, with a culture that puts people and professional growth at the fore. The role is full-time and hybrid, based at Marcel-Laurin Plant 1 within Aerospace Canada, and it should appeal to engineers or technical specialists who like solving real-world production challenges and driving improvements in complex manufacturing environments.

In this position, you’ll work with operations, engineering and quality groups to keep production moving, especially around composite parts and metal bonding. The team will rely on you to troubleshoot issues that could trigger line shutdowns, investigate root causes, and implement lasting improvements that prevent recurrences. If you enjoy leading technical work across projects and contributing to the development of new parts, this could be a strong fit.

If you value teamwork, clear communication, and a hands-on approach to optimizing manufacturing processes in a world-class plant, you’ll likely feel at home in this role.

Day-to-day contributions in manufacturing engineering

On a typical day you’ll address challenges across composite parts and metal bonding, coordinating with multiple departments to minimize downtime and keep the production line steady. You’ll be ready to jump in on investigations, helping design and implement corrective actions that prevent future disruptions while seeking opportunities to improve the product and the process.

You’ll contribute to the development and integration of new parts by offering technical expertise and stepping into a leadership role for the duration of the project. You may review assembly notebooks, generate or update action files, and draft change requests as needed to keep documentation accurate and up to date.

There’s an emphasis on accountability and scheduling, so you’ll help ensure someone is in charge with a clear action plan for every identified problem, and you’ll update the visual management table to reflect progress. You’ll also examine methods and engineering documentation to surface and address issues, initiating appropriate corrective measures when required.

  • Solid knowledge of aircraft manufacturing and assembly techniques
  • Demonstrated leadership and a commitment to customer satisfaction
  • A team player who is organized, autonomous, resourceful, imaginative and perseverant, with good communication
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SAP; knowledge of Catia V5 is a plus

The role is full-time and regular, located at Marcel-Laurin Plant 1 in Québec, with flexible and hybrid work policies that accommodate on-site and remote work where appropriate. This is a genuine, hands-on manufacturing engineering position within the Aerospace Canada organization.

Advice for applicants

Front-load your resume with your five years of methods- or related-experience and any direct production-support achievements, especially where you prevented downtime or improved process reliability. Include concrete examples that show the impact of your work on production continuity and quality.

Demonstrate the must-have skills by citing projects where you read complex technical drawings, used 3D visualization tools, and collaborated across multiple teams to resolve issues on the factory floor. If you have SAP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access experience, show how you used those tools to track problems, document actions, and communicate results.

Be ready to discuss a time you led a corrective action that averted a line shutdown, including how you coordinated with engineering, operations and quality to implement the solution and verify its effectiveness. Prepare to explain how you prioritize tasks when multiple production issues arise and how you maintain clear accountability and timelines.

Ask a targeted question about how the team uses the visual management table and action plans to stay on schedule during production challenges, and what recent improvements the team has implemented to prevent line stoppages or improve product quality.
