Position Overview

We are seeking a Shipping Coordinator to oversee the movement of structural steel products from the fabrication facility to customers. This role is responsible for organizing daily shipping activities, leading the shipping team, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining safe and efficient loadout operations.

The ideal candidate has experience in structural steel manufacturing, material handling, and supervising employees in a production environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily shipping and loadout operations for structural steel products.
  • Inspect outgoing materials to ensure they are properly labeled, secured, and prepared for transportation.
  • Review shipping documents, load tickets, and related paperwork for accuracy before shipments leave the facility.
  • Work closely with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to maintain shipping schedules and customer delivery timelines.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records using production or shipping software.
  • Lead, train, and support shipping personnel while assisting with daily operations.
  • Conduct safety meetings and reinforce compliance with company safety policies and workplace procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes, workflow, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on support during loading activities while helping ensure production goals are met.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience in structural steel shipping, material handling, or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • At least two years of experience leading or supervising a team.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, telehandlers, and vertical mast lifts.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet shipping deadlines.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Tekla EPMgo or similar production and shipping management software.
