Job Description

Join us as a Tax Analyst where you will play a key role in ensuring the NRMA Group meets its taxation and compliance obligations. This role is critical in delivering accurate, timely and high‑quality tax reporting across the organisation.

This role is a full‑time 12‑month contract opportunity (with the potential for the role to become a permanent position).  We offer a hybrid work arrangement where you will be required to work across our Sydney CBD and Sydney Olympic Park offices as well as some work from home. 

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Tax Manager, you’ll work closely with financial stakeholders across the business and apply your technical expertise to deliver tax effect accounting, monthly reporting, and tax compliance activities. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Prepare tax effect accounting calculations for the 30 June 2026 financial year, including detailed work papers and income tax return disclosures 
  • Prepare the monthly NRMA Group Business Activity Statement with comprehensive supporting documentation 
  • Prepare Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns and associated work papers 
  • Analyse fixed assets from a tax perspective and maintain complete and accurate tax fixed asset registers 
  • Maintain the Group’s tax compliance calendar and all supporting documents 
  • Facilitate tax payments, journals and confirmations 
  • Provide ad hoc technical and operational tax support to the Tax Manager as required 

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • Commerce degree or equivalent 
  • Must have 4+ years’ experience in a professional services firm and/or corporate tax function across FBT, income tax and tax accounting 
  • Proficient in tax effect accounting and advanced Excel skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently 
  • Hands‑on approach to understanding and confidence navigating systems to collate data for tax analysis 
  • Knowledge of business accounting principles
