Job Description

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is looking for a motivated and proactive Team Lead to join the railway operations team in Montréal-Est, Québec, Monday to Friday, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. In this role, you will be responsible for leading daily field activities, mobilizing the team, and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of railway switching operations.

What you’re responsible for:

    • Lead, coach, and motivate the railway operations team to achieve daily objectives.
    • Enforce health and safety policies and ensure strict compliance with procedures.
    • Plan and coordinate the use and maintenance of equipment, including PPE and machinery used for railcar loading.
    • Collaborate closely with the shuttle train operator to ensure safe and efficient railcar positioning.
    • Support the Foreman with administrative and operational follow-ups related to railway production activities.

    Qualifications

    To join our team:

    • You have at least 2 years of experience in team management and know how to engage employees around operational priorities.
    • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial or production environment, including operating heavy equipment (loaders, cranes, shuttle trains).
    • You are highly disciplined and committed to strictly following safety procedures and railway regulations.
    • You are recognized for your ability to communicate clearly and effectively with your team (French required).
    • You are comfortable working outdoors in a dynamic environment, regardless of weather conditions.
    • You are in excellent physical condition and enjoy hands-on fieldwork, including climbing on and off railcars and handling equipment.
    • You have experience in railway operations and a good knowledge of systems, infrastructure, or rolling stock (an important asset).
