Job Description

The role

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join the Crown Theatre team as a full time Technical Operator- Staging. This role will be responsible for supporting the Theatre Head Technical Operator- Staging, with staging and technical requirements for touring and local shows, large productions and events.

This includes building staging, set and scenery, installing and dismantling staging systems and equipment, rigging, manual and winch flying, the ability to perform show cues and staging plots during performances and varied stage duties.

About you

You’ll bring the following:

  • Technical staging experience with an emphasis on Theatre Staging operations
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment
  • Strong customer focus

Additional Information

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Prior experience on stage in a Flys or Mechanist role.
  • Extensive experience with show operations.

This role requires:

  • Working at Heights certificate, EWP(preferrable) and White Card
  • Forklift licence (preferrable)
  • Rigging certificate (preferrable)
  • Preparedness to work outside of normal work business hours
