Position Overview
This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for aggregate and asphalt paving operations. The role leads all aspects of the business, including safety, operations, sales, financial performance, quality control, equipment management, and critical support functions, while ensuring the successful execution of company objectives and growth strategies.
The incumbent is accountable for driving operational excellence, optimizing profitability, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality, and fostering strong customer relationships across all business lines. This position plays a key role in developing high-performing teams, advancing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring efficient coordination of resources to meet organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
· Champion a strong safety culture by partnering with safety and field teams to reduce risk and always ensure employee well-being.
· Oversee daily operations, ensuring safe production, high quality, customer satisfaction, and compliance with safety and environmental standards across asphalt operations.
· Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing workforce.
· Provide overall leadership and supervision for asphalt operations and teams.
· Drive operational performance and continuous improvement to meet or exceed company objectives.
· Develop and manage the annual operating budget in collaboration with the Company President.
· Ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective use of resources through strong leadership and direction.
· Build and sustain effective, engaged teams.
· Ensure all crews are properly equipped and trained, and that all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements are met.
· Direct construction activities through superintendents to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget; address and resolve critical issues as needed.
· Support and advise teams during the bidding and proposal process.
· Oversee capital expenditure projects within the assigned region.
· Partner with the Company President to establish long-term strategies, goals, and policies.
· Lead sales and marketing efforts to maximize revenue, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
· Drive performance management, employee development, succession planning, and effective recruiting and hiring practices.
· Leverage strong communication and performance management skills to achieve financial success, safety excellence, and operational effectiveness.
· Hold team members accountable for delivering results and meeting expectations.
· Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
· Provide overall leadership of operations and commercial strategy, analyzing operational and financial performance to achieve production and profitability goals.
· Drive business development by managing key customer and vendor relationships and leading bid/proposal efforts to grow market share.
· Ensure the organization achieves targeted financial and safety outcomes.
· Establish strategic direction for growth initiatives, including expansion into new markets and channels.
· Own full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, performance monitoring, and strategic adjustments to maximize returns and profitability.
· Lead succession planning, mentoring, and professional development for direct reports.
· Serve as a role model in leadership, teamwork, customer focus, continuous improvement, and safety, while building strong relationships with industry stakeholders, agencies, suppliers, and contractors.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
· Bachelor’s degree or related experience with a minimum of 10 years of Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management, or other related discipline and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities (experience required). Advanced degree preferred.
· Experience managing P&L responsibility required.
· Experience in mining, construction or manufacturing.
· Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required
· Eight to ten years in a management role within the construction industry preferred
Work Requirements
