Practical Advice for Your Application
Put any warehouse experience and safety training near the top of your resume so the hiring team sees you meet the must-have education and safety expectations first.
In your resume or cover letter, give concrete examples of safe work practices, how you’ve handled inventory checks, and your experience processing orders, stock receipts, and deliveries. If you have lift-truck experience, hose assembly, or packaging of dangerous goods, call those out with brief, impact-focused notes.
Be ready to talk through how you manage parts orders, stock receipts, and inventory control, and how you interact with customers to solve problems quickly and professionally. You may be asked about how you stay compliant with safety policies and how you prioritize accuracy in a fast-moving environment.
Consider asking about the company’s training pathways and cross-location opportunities, and how weekend on-call rotations are scheduled. A smart question to ask: what training supports advancement within Toromont Cat, and how often do employees rotate across multiple Eastern Canada locations?
