KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Yard Operations Management

• Oversee daily yard activities and workflow. 
• Coordinate inbound and outbound movement of vehicles, trailers, containers, or materials. 
• Ensure efficient yard layout and space utilization. 
• Monitor loading, unloading, parking, and storage operations. 
• Maintain operational efficiency and minimize delays. 

Staff Supervision

• Manage yard supervisors, drivers, operators, loaders, and yard personnel. 
• Assign daily work schedules and responsibilities. 
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching.  
• Ensure adequate staffing levels for operational requirements. 
• Organize training and development programs

Inventory and Asset Control

• Maintain accurate records of inventory, equipment, vehicles, and materials. 
• Conduct regular stock counts and yard audits. 
• Monitor asset utilization and availability. 
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions. 
• Ensure proper labeling and tracking systems are maintained. 

Health, Safety, and Compliance

• Enforce company safety policies and procedures. 
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments. 
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and environmental standards. 
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses. 
• Promote a strong safety culture among employees. 

Equipment and Vehicle Management

• Monitor condition and availability of equipment and vehicles. 
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules. 
• Arrange repairs and service activities when required.  
• Ensure all machinery is operated safely and efficiently. 
• Maintain maintenance records and certifications. 

Logistics Coordination

• Coordinate with transportation, warehouse, and operations teams. 
• Ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods or equipment. 
• Resolve operational bottlenecks and scheduling conflicts. 
• Monitor turnaround times and optimize yard flow. 
• Communicate operational updates to management.
