The Role:
We are seeking an inspiring and passionate Teacher for our Year 7–8 students at our Timaru campus, starting Term 4, 2026 or as soon as possible. This permanent, full-time role offers the opportunity to support students in a positive face to face environment while guiding their transition into secondary learning, including building confidence as they begin engaging with specialist subjects via Zoom.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging and meaningful lessons tailored for Year 7-8 students
• Foster student ownership of learning, self-discipline, and collaboration
• Implement the Learn to Learn framework to develop effective learning strategies
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent teaching practices across the campus
• Encourage inquiry, creativity, and real-world problem-solving skills
• Engage actively with parents and the wider community
Skills and Experience:
• Registered New Zealand Teacher with current certification
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand
• Experience teaching Year 7-8 students (or similar) in New Zealand
• Passion for innovative teaching methods promoting active learning and critical thinking
• Strong commitment to fostering a growth
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with students, staff, and the wider school community
