Lids, the largest licensed sports retailer in North America with more than 1,300 stores, is looking for a part-time, on-site team member in Edmonton for a role coded 7801-3rd Key(H). The company is known for turning hats into statements, pairing fan gear with fashion across a national footprint and offering in-store embroidery to customize gear. This position could be a great fit if you love hats, sports culture, and helping fans express their team pride through thoughtful product choices.

The 3rd Key role puts you at the heart of the store’s energy. You’ll help create a memorable Lids experience by guiding customers to products that reflect their individuality and pride, while keeping the floor lively and well presented. You’ll maintain displays according to current visual guidelines and project a professional image that aligns with the dress code. On the operational side, you’ll support store fundamentals like inventory movement and shipment processing, contribute to accurate counts, and ensure policies and procedures are followed. You’ll report to the Store Manager and work as part of a collaborative team dedicated to great customer service.

Your daily shifts behind the Lids counter

In this role you’ll drive revenue through attentive service, helping shoppers find hats and related items that express their personal style and team affinity. You’ll also keep the store looking sharp, with merchandising and signage that align with the latest guidelines while maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for customers. When it comes to operations, you’ll participate in inventory management, assist with shipments, and support regular stock checks so product counts stay accurate. A professional appearance and adherence to company policies are part of the day-to-day routine, and you’ll take on other duties as assigned to help the store run smoothly.

Must-have requirements

The essential qualification is strong interpersonal skills paired with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers.

Pay, perks and practical details

The position sits in Edmonton as a part-time, on-site role with Lids. You’ll enjoy employee discounts and perks, opportunities for career development through training programs, and a collaborative, team-focused work environment. There’s also Early Wage Access available to provide added financial flexibility. Legally, you must be authorized to work in Canada, and the company does not offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Physical demands include the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, to climb a ladder when necessary, and to stand and walk regularly during shifts. You’ll need to hear and speak with customers and coworkers on a frequent basis, read store information, and operate a computer and mobile Point-of-Sale system. Reasonable accommodations can be provided to help you perform essential functions, and inquiries can be directed to [email protected]. The role reports to the Store Manager, and Lids remains an equal opportunity employer.

Advice for applicants

Put the 7801-3rd Key(H) experience front and center on your resume, especially any time you helped a customer find the right item, supported store displays, or contributed to meeting or exceeding sales goals.

When you demonstrate the must-have skill, include a concrete example of a time you communicated clearly with a customer and left them with a positive impression, ideally tied to a specific product or scenario that shows your professionalism and knowledge of the line.

For interviews, be ready to discuss how you would handle everyday tasks like processing shipments, counting inventory, and keeping displays aligned with guidelines, as well as how you stay organized during busy periods while maintaining a sharp appearance and adherence to the dress code.

Ask a pointed question that shows you’re thinking about store performance beyond just individual sales, such as how the team tracks revenue growth through customer service or how visual standards guide daily decisions and promotions in the Edmonton location.
