Internship
On-site
Melbourne, AU

Mammotion is seeking an Account Manager to join their Melbourne team on site, stepping into an internship that places you at the heart of how the company supports national retail accounts. The role focuses on building solid relationships with buyers, coordinating orders and product launches, and aligning internal teams to keep promotions and activities on track. The company is looking for someone who can help manage day-to-day account activity and drive productive collaboration across retail partners while you learn the ropes of retail sales and account management.

If you like organising complex schedules, interpreting data, and coordinating with marketing, logistics and finance, you’ll likely feel right at home. This internship offers a chance to gain hands-on experience in a growing consumer-product environment that values practical problem-solving and clear communication. You’ll work with a team that supports cross-functional collaboration and seeks someone who’s comfortable working with a mix of Australian and possibly international teams as the business grows.

You’ll find this role suits you if you’re curious about how retailers operate, have an interest in smart technology or outdoor products, and enjoy developing new retail categories. The position emphasizes relationship-building, structured account administration, and a willingness to own responsibilities from orders to after-sales follow-through.

A day in the life with Mammotion

In this role you’ll own the daily rhythm of the national retail accounts, keeping steady lines of communication with buyers, category teams and store stakeholders, and you’ll come prepared for regular account meetings with well-kept notes and action registers in the company’s CRM. You’ll also help keep account plans up to date, ensuring requests and issues move to completion and that you can spot opportunities for growth to bring to the Sales Director’s attention.

You’ll coordinate purchase orders, product availability and delivery timing with supply chain, logistics and finance, while tracking open orders and backorders and providing customers with timely, transparent updates. You’ll support demand forecasting by gathering retailer forecasts, promotional expectations, sales trends and on-the-ground feedback, then use that data to monitor stock levels, weeks of cover and overall product performance. You’ll help with account administration tasks like EDI and retailer portal updates, while keeping product data and setup information in good order.

On the product side, you’ll help coordinate launches and ranging across online and physical stores, collaborating with retailers and internal marketing teams to execute promotions, campaigns and content. You’ll oversee the flow of in-store materials, from point-of-sale assets to display stock and staff training, and you’ll visit stores to review presentation, stock levels, staff knowledge and competition. You’ll also support events, demonstrations and seasonal sales activities as needed.

Training and product support are part of the job, too. You’ll deliver engaging product and sales training to retailer head offices, state teams and store staff, helping them understand product selection, installation and common customer questions. You’ll coordinate training logistics and materials, and you’ll gather feedback to share practical insights with sales, product, marketing and after-sales teams to improve future efforts.

Finally, you’ll act as the central coordinator for day-to-day account issues, working with sales, marketing, operations, finance, logistics and service partners to resolve them quickly. You’ll own the progress of open actions, provide customers with regular updates, and prepare weekly and monthly reports covering sales, orders, stock, forecasts, promotions and risks. You’ll track performance against targets and help prepare range reviews, promotional proposals and retailer presentations, ensuring pricing and funding are implemented accurately while escalating material changes to the Sales Director when needed.

The must-haves to join the team

To be considered for this role, you should bring the following essentials.

  • A minimum of two years in account management, retail sales, supplier management or a closely related commercial role
  • Proven experience maintaining retailer relationships and managing orders, promotions, product launches and follow-through
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, plus familiarity with a CRM or other account-management system
  • A current Australian driver’s licence and the ability to travel regularly
  • Full working rights in Australia

Nice-to-haves that help you stand out

These aren’t mandatory, but they’ll strengthen your application.

  • Background in consumer electronics, power garden, outdoor living, home improvement, appliances, hardware, technology or similar product categories
  • A business, sales or marketing qualification
  • Comfort collaborating with Australian and international teams in a fast-growing business

Practical details you should know

The role is based in Melbourne and performed onsite. It’s an internship position, and you would need to hold a current Australian driver’s licence with the ability to travel regularly. You must also have full working rights in Australia.

Tips to help you stand out in this internship

Lead your resume with the most relevant experience in account management or retail partnerships, especially if you’ve worked with national retailers or handled end-to-end promotions. If you can, include a concrete example of coordinating orders or managing a product launch, and describe the outcome using numbers or specific improvements to delivery or stock management.

Be ready to prove the must-haves with real-world examples. Describe how you’ve used Excel and a CRM to manage multiple accounts, track status updates, and present progress to a supervisor or client, including how you kept stakeholders informed and on track.

Prepare to discuss a product launch or promotional event you supported from start to finish. Explain how you coordinated with supply chain, marketing and store teams, what challenges you faced, and how you measured success after the rollout.

Ask a thoughtful question about the internship’s impact on retail partnerships. For example, you could inquire how Mammotion collaborates with national retailers like Bunnings or Harvey Norman, and what a successful intern contribution looks like in terms of driving growth or improving launch execution.
