HCL Technologies Limited is looking for an Administrator (Support & Operations) to provide hands-on AV and video conferencing support for an Oil and Gas client, working onsite at their head office in the Perth CBD. The role sits in a brand-new office setup, offering exposure to high-end technology in a practical, client-facing environment. If you enjoy solving tech problems, coordinating with teams, and helping keep critical communications running, this could be a good fit.

The job centers on keeping corporate AV and VC spaces running smoothly across the head office and remote sites in Western Australia. It’s a role for someone who likes practical, day-to-day tech work, collaboration with internal IT teams, and a chance to partner with AV subcontractors on onboarding new systems. The right candidate will be comfortable working in a professional office setting and contributing to a compliant AV/VC infrastructure.

What you’ll do centers on hands-on support, maintenance and coordination. You’ll troubleshoot AV spaces, provide technical help at the client’s headquarters and at remote locations, and keep all supported spaces up to date. You’ll work closely with the client’s internal tech teams and AV subcontractors during deployments, ensuring smooth onboarding of new systems and clear communication within the AV/VC group. Travel to WA remote sites happens occasionally, so you’ll need to be ready for on-site visits as part of the role.

A day-to-day rhythm in the AV support role

On a typical day you’ll diagnose and fix issues with AV spaces at the client’s head office and other sites, making sure meeting rooms, conference spaces, theatres and signage operate reliably. You’ll perform regular upkeep to keep the AV environments healthy and ready for use, coordinating with the client’s technical teams to address problems and implement improvements. You’ll also support the onboarding of new systems handled by AV subcontractors, helping to integrate those deployments into the existing infrastructure and processes. Collaboration with the AV/VC team and a strong eye on compliance will guide how projects are prioritized and executed, while occasional travel to remote WA sites will be part of the routine when needed.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Hands-on experience with corporate audio visual and video conferencing tech across spaces such as meeting rooms, conference rooms, theatres and digital signage.

  • Strong ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve AV equipment issues to restore full functionality.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Rooms and a range of brands including Cisco, Crestron, QSC, Biamp, Shure, LG and Samsung.

  • Some exposure to IP networking, Azure AD, ServiceNow, Windows and Microsoft Office; this background would be valued.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to remote sites in WA as part of the role.

Nice-to-have extras that help

  • Experience onboarding new AV systems for deployments, working with subcontractors to bring systems online.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal technical teams to implement AV/VC projects.

  • Experience managing or supporting compliance for AV/VC infrastructure across multiple sites.

Advice for applicants

Place a clear summary of your AV/VC experience up front on your resume, explicitly naming corporate environments, meeting rooms, theatres and digital signage, along with the brands you’ve worked with such as Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco, Crestron, QSC, Biamp, Shure, LG and Samsung.

When you describe your must-have skills, back them with a concrete example from a client site or a project. If you’ve diagnosed and resolved a complex AV fault or led on-site support for head office spaces, outline what you did, the outcome, and the impact on uptime or user satisfaction.

Be ready to talk about cross-team collaboration and onboarding. Have a short story ready about coordinating with internal technical teams and subcontractors to deploy a new AV system, and how you handled device integration and documentation.

Ask a smart question in your interview about how the team maintains compliance and how onboarding for new deployments is managed, for example: what processes are in place to manage compliance for the AV/VC infrastructure, and how does the role interact with the AV/VC team during deployments?
