This role runs 9:00am to 1:00pm on Mondays or Tuesdays and involves recording, cataloguing, documenting and archiving items to improve searchability and access. The ideal candidate has a genuine interest in history, exceptional attention to detail, and comfort handling large volumes of material; previous archives, museum, library or records management experience is desirable, and a reasonable level of physical fitness helps. Are you passionate about preserving history and ensuring important stories are safeguarded for future generations? We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Archivist to join our small but committed team and help care for our extensive collection of heritage artefacts and memorabilia.
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with a unique collection that includes medals, uniforms, medical equipment, photographs, documents, records, and other historical items that reflect the rich heritage of our organisation.
As a volunteer Archivist, you will assist with the recording, cataloguing, documenting and archiving of a large and diverse collection of historical materials. Your work will help ensure these valuable items can be accurately identified, preserved, searched for, and accessed when needed.
