Opus’ Envirotest is expanding its team with a new Motorist Assistant Center initiative and is seeking ASE-certified Master Diagnosticians who want to apply their know-how in a fresh setting. The role sits onsite in Annapolis, MD, with the Baltimore, MD headquarters serving as a base and travel to Envirotest stations across Maryland. Day-to-day, you’ll diagnose emission-related issues, gather the necessary vehicle information for motorists and repair facilities, and document test and diagnostic results, including MIL status, DTCs, and readiness data to support repairs. You’ll visually assess repair waivers to verify completed work and care for the diagnostic instruments and equipment when needed. The job may include other duties as assigned, but the focus is on clear communication, accurate record-keeping, and delivering helpful, tech-informed guidance to drivers.

What you’ll bring to the road

Must-have qualifications - ASE Certified with A6, A8 and L1 certifications - Either five years of full-time emissions repair experience, or two years of automotive education plus four years of emissions repair experience - A high school diploma or equivalent - A valid driver’s license with a good driving record Nice-to-haves - Knowledge of digital and analog electronics - Familiarity with test equipment, including digital multimeters - An advanced understanding of electromechanical operation - A working understanding of pneumatics

Pay, benefits and practical details

The pay range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience.
