Standard Chartered is seeking a skilled Business Manager for Coverage MEA in Dubai, onsite. The role partners with the Cluster Head of Business Management and Coverage leadership across the Middle East and Africa to push performance, shape strategy, and strengthen governance and organizational effectiveness. It’s a chance to help steer key priorities across the franchise, from business planning and performance management to governance, executive communications and management reporting. The position requires working across several countries with multiple stakeholders, serving as a central coordination point between Coverage, Product, Finance, HR, Risk and the COO function to ensure timely delivery of regional priorities. Shaping performance across the region

In this role you’ll join forces with Coverage leadership to drive the execution of strategic priorities and business objectives across the Middle East and Africa. You’ll steer the planning cycle, budgeting and Corporate Plan activities, making sure they align with the cluster and Group priorities. You’ll keep a pulse on franchise performance, watching revenue, client activity, productivity, capital and costs, so you can spot risks, opportunities and the actions needed to stay on track. Preparing business reviews, executive updates and presentations for senior leadership will be part of your routine, ensuring clear, evidence-based communications at the top levels. Governance routines will be a core focus, with accountability for follow-through on major actions and decisions and for advancing strategic initiatives. You’ll coordinate cross-functional delivery across Coverage, Product, Risk, Finance, HR and COO teams to support the priorities and keep efforts synchronized. You’ll also support portfolio optimisation, client segmentation, financial planning and portfolio hygiene to improve franchise performance and client coverage effectiveness. Through rigorous performance analysis and frontline reporting you’ll uncover actionable insights that inform decisions and direction. Finally, you’ll contribute to leadership communications and franchise-wide initiatives that strengthen alignment and collaboration across the MEA region.

Core credentials you’ll bring

Here’s what the role expects you to offer in terms qualifications and experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree.
  • A solid grasp of Corporate & Investment Banking clients, products and what drives profitability in that space.
  • Experience working across several geographies and with diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Strong capabilities in how to manage business performance, produce executive-level reporting and drive strategic planning.
  • Proficiency in English is essential, with Arabic language skills considered a bonus.
  • History of tracking revenues, client portfolios, sales pipelines, key performance indicators and overall business performance.
  • Proven problem-solving ability to shape client strategy, perform root-cause analysis and interpret performance data.
  • Strong networking, influencing and decision-making skills that help you move initiatives forward.
  • High level of initiative, ambition and pride in your work, with a tendency to push for better outcomes.
  • A willingness to challenge the status quo and comfortable engaging with senior management.
