Auckland Council's Pool and Leisure Centres help more people get active and support our goal of making Auckland the most active city in the world.

 

We're looking for a Casual Team Member to join our Fitness team and support our functions at Stanmore Bay Pools and Leisure Centre. 

 

In this frontline role, your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Keeping a visible and active presence on the gym floor, providing fitness advice and ongoing support to visitors
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to our customers, community groups, and visitors to all ages and abilities across our diverse community during busy periods
  • Following Health & Safety procedures and administering First Aid as needed
  • Promoting safe exercise practices and reinforcing facility policies and guidelines to ensure a positive member experience
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation, and monitoring equipment and facilities
  • Understanding all centre operational duties and assisting with relevant administration tasks such as bookings and appointments

 

This is a casual position. Our centre operates 7 days a week from 5:00am to 9:30pm, and commitment to working early, late and weekend shifts is crucial. The shift pattern may change according to the business needs.

We are looking for people who:

 

  • Are passionate about sports and recreation and are ready to step into a front-line customer service role.
  • Have a positive attitude, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills and experience, with a strong focus on client engagement.
  • Are friendly, mature, approachable team players who demonstrate initiative, professionalism, accountability, and good judgement.
  • Have confidence to ask questions, build knowledge, and use initiative to deliver effective fitness solutions.
  • Have excellent time management skills and confidence with administrative tasks and processes.
  • Value diversity and inclusion, and are committed to health, safety, and delivering great outcomes.

 

You will need a First Aid Certificate; however, we will help you obtain one if you do not already have it. A recognised fitness-related qualification is preferred but not required.
