Auckland Council's Pool and Leisure Centres help more people get active and support our goal of making Auckland the most active city in the world.

We're looking for a Casual Team Member to join our Recreation team and support our functions at Glenfield Pools and Leisure Centre and ActivZone. 

In this frontline role, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering exceptional customer service to our customers, community groups, and visitors during busy periods like the school holidays
• Serving food and helping in our Cafe
• Assisting skate session operation
• Following Health & Safety procedures and administering First Aid as needed
• Understanding all centre operational duties and assisting with relevant administration tasks such as bookings

This is a casual position. Our centre operates 7 days a week from 9:00am to 9:00pm, and commitment to working early, late and weekend shifts is crucial. The shift pattern may change according to the business needs.

We are looking for people who:

• Are passionate about sports and recreation and are ready to step into a front-line customer service role.
• Have a flexible approach and can use their initiative to facilitate engaging and suitable programmes for kids.
• Are responsible and confident when working with children (previous experience working with children is beneficial but not essential).
• Have roller-skating experience (highly desirable).
• Have a positive attitude, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills and experience.
• Are friendly, mature, approachable team players who demonstrate initiative, professionalism, accountability, and good judgement.
• Value diversity and inclusion, and are committed to health, safety, and delivering great outcomes.

You will need a First Aid Certificate; however, we will help you obtain one if you do not already have it.

Salary rate: $29.90/hr. *Please also note, our employer KiwiSaver contribution is additional to the base salary offered.
