Munich, DE
Li Auto is hiring a Chassis Tuning Expert for a full-time, onsite role based in Munich, DE. The position centers on leading vehicle chassis tuning and performance evaluations to shape a refined luxury driving character. If you bring a long track record in luxury-brand development and enjoy turning field observations into concrete tuning improvements, you could be a strong fit for this team.

The role sits within a hands-on engineering environment, where you’ll steer the chassis and dynamics design to meet targets during digital simulations, and you’ll oversee benchmark evaluations that mix subjective feel with objective data. Collaboration with multiple departments will be essential as you define and align performance targets, and as you refine the tuning process, testing methods, and standards. You’ll also lead the development of calibration strategies for CDC, EPS and other chassis controls, using field feedback to refine the driving experience and push toward future production ideas.

You’ll also focus on identifying the parameters that most affect customer satisfaction, drawing from field research and customer feedback to drive improvements. In addition, you’ll drive the integration of new chassis features and technologies for future models while addressing ride-and-handling related issues as part of ongoing R&D.

Must‑have qualifications
- Degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a closely related field at bachelor’s level or higher
- More than 15 years of hands-on work evaluating luxury-brand vehicles and tuning their chassis
- Proven experience bringing three or more luxury vehicles from concept to SOP
- Expert-level driving and subjective assessment skills, including experience with extreme driving and the ability to guide and train others
- Proficiency with the vehicle development process, with a focus on chassis development
- Experience in tuning air suspension
- Highly experienced in setting chassis performance targets and translating them into system-level requirements with CAE support
- Deep knowledge of chassis layout, hardpoints, parameter values and target setting
- Experience with ride and handling simulation, measurement, and chassis tuning software/tools
- Advanced MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
- Fluent English (oral and written) is mandatory
- Willing to travel to China up to 20%
- Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, fast learner, proactive and creative
- Excellent time management and the ability to work under pressure
- Strong self-confidence and a results-oriented work philosophy

Nice-to-haves
- Active suspension development or tuning experience is a plus

Advice for applicants
Put your most relevant credentials at the top of your resume, especially your degree in mechanical or automotive engineering and your 15-plus years of luxury-vehicle chassis tuning experience. Then show, with concrete examples, your track record developing three or more luxury vehicles from concept to SOP, and illustrate how you’ve translated performance targets into system-level requirements with CAE support.

Prepare to talk through how you approach combining field observations with objective testing to improve customer satisfaction, and be ready to discuss any air suspension tuning work you’ve done. For your interview, be prepared to detail a few specific instances where you used R&H tools or similar software to shape chassis behavior, and describe how you collaborated with CAE teams to define and meet targets.

When you can, ask about how the team integrates field feedback into calibration strategies for CDC and EPS, and which upcoming chassis challenges or future productions they’re focusing on. A smart question to end with: how the collaboration with CAE and other departments is structured to turn field data into concrete, measurable tuning improvements.
