Advice for applicants

Lead with your care values and any cleaning background in your resume, so the panel sees quickly that you’re a good fit for supporting elders in daily life.

Back up your claims about empathy, communication and literacy with concrete examples from past roles, show how you’ve interacted with residents or families and any written procedures you’ve followed.

Be ready to discuss times you worked safely and followed policies and procedures, and how you contributed to a cooperative team to maintain a clean, safe environment for everyone.

Ask about training that supports maintaining consistent cleanliness standards and how the team gauges resident satisfaction with cleanliness, to show you’re thinking about both quality and the care context.
