$14,500 - $17,000 CAD yearly

GoodLife Fitness is looking to add a Club Attendant to its Vaughan Keele and Highway 7 location. This part-time, on-site role focuses on keeping the club clean, safe and welcoming for members, so they can enjoy their workouts without any distractions. GoodLife Fitness has a long-standing footprint in the Canadian fitness scene and aims to create a friendly, supportive club culture. If you like helping people, keeping spaces organized and thriving in a team environment, this could be a good fit.

In this role you’ll interact with members daily and contribute to the positive atmosphere on the workout floor. You’ll be trusted to handle duties that keep the club ready for members, from cleaning and restocking to everyday upkeep, while you stay engaged with guests, answering questions and guiding them to the right person when needed. It’s a good match for someone who enjoys variety in a busy club setting and takes pride in a clean, well-run space.

Day-to-day, you’ll work to ensure the club is ready for members by keeping equipment thoroughly cleaned, towels stocked, and consumables replenished. You’ll manage changerooms and general surfaces, handle light stocking and waste removal, and perform routine pool or whirlpool checks where applicable. You’ll also help maintain the tanning room and bed cleanliness and take on other cleaning duties as required. On the member side, you’ll greet people, stay pleasant and present, help with questions by pointing them to the right person, and participate in required learning and meetings to keep you in the loop.

Keeping the floor right where members feel welcome

To do this job well, you’ll need a strong sense of teamwork and a proactive mindset. You’ll be expected to contribute to the team, volunteer to help others succeed, and bring energy to the tasks you tackle. You’ll keep things organized and manage your time to get the important priorities done, while remaining approachable and easy to talk to. And you should be comfortable working independently when needed, communicating clearly with staff and members and embracing the company culture in everyday interactions.

What you bring to the floor

Here’s what the role requires on day one. The listed requirements are grouped into must-haves and a note on additional preferences.

  • CPR-A and AED Certification
  • A history of contributing to the team and supporting others to succeed, modelling sharing, care and cooperation
  • Confidence to take on tasks with energy and a readiness to tackle challenges
  • Efficient time management and the ability to prioritise important duties
  • Approachability, warmth and good listening skills to put others at ease
  • Ability to work independently when the situation calls for it
  • Strong organizational skills to keep spaces and tasks orderly
  • Willingness to take initiative with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to understand and embrace the company culture
  • Clear, professional communication with associates and members

There are no additional preferences listed beyond the items above.

Pay, benefits and practical details

The posting notes a base wage of $17.95, with an annual compensation range of $14,500 to $17,000, determined by the total number of scheduled hours per year, performance and time in position. The role is part-time and on-site at the Vaughan Keele and Highway 7 location. In addition to pay, the opportunity includes ongoing training and development, potential for career advancement, a competitive total rewards package, a free fitness membership, and a fun, energetic atmosphere to come to each day.

GoodLife Fitness commits to fostering an inclusive, accessible environment and will provide accommodations for recruitment or interview processes upon request. If you need an accommodation, they’ll work with you to meet your needs as part of the hiring process.

Advice for applicants

First, lead your resume with your CPR-A & AED certification and any related training, since this is listed as a must-have.

Next, show concrete examples of your teamwork. Describe a time you volunteered to help others succeed and how you supported teammates or other teams to reach a goal.

Be ready to talk about how you manage your time on shift. Share a story where you balanced cleaning tasks, towel/service duties and member questions to keep the club running smoothly.

Finally, prepare a thoughtful question to end with, such as what ongoing training looks like and how performance for this role is measured, to demonstrate you’re thinking about how you’d grow in the club.
