Keeping contracts on track in Abu Dhabi

BESIX is recruiting through its Six Construct arm, the largest Belgian construction company operating in the Middle East. Six Construct works across commercial and residential buildings, sport and leisure facilities, infrastructure and marine projects, and it employs roughly 4,000 people in the Middle East and about 10,000 worldwide. The Contract Administrator for Facilities Management is a hands-on, on-site role that supports the delivery of a broad FM programme with a strong emphasis on governance and risk management.

The role sits at the intersection of commercial and operations, safeguarding the company's contractual interests, ensuring compliance, and helping projects run smoothly. You’ll work to strengthen client relationships, support commercial performance, and help keep complex FM contracts on track across a large portfolio.

It’s a fit for someone who enjoys partnering with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to solve problems and improve processes. If you like a role that mixes meticulous contract work with collaboration on site, this could be a good match for you, especially if you’re comfortable working onsite in Abu Dhabi.

Day-to-day work that keeps projects moving

In this role you’ll oversee the main contract and major subcontract packages, making sure the right documents and correspondence are prepared and issued on time. You’ll keep a close eye on compliance across service delivery activities and flag any contractual risks or potential disputes early so they can be addressed before they escalate.

When changes come up, you’ll support the preparation of claims, variations and EOT submissions and ensure they’re handled consistently and backed by solid documentation. Collaboration is key here: you’ll regularly engage with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to align on terms, expectations and deliverables, while looking for ways to improve how contract administration is done and how subcontract documentation is managed.

Beyond day-to-day duties, you’ll provide guidance to project, operational and commercial colleagues to help them navigate contractual requirements and to implement improvements across the FM programme as it scales.

What you’ll bring to the role

Here’s what the ideal candidate would have in terms of formal education and hands-on experience.

  • A bachelor’s degree in quantities surveying, civil engineering, law, or a related field
  • At least five years of work in contract administration, quantity surveying, engineering, procurement, facilities management, or a similar area
  • Experience handling service contracts, subcontract agreements and the associated correspondence
  • A solid grasp of claims management, variations, dispute resolution and ensuring contract compliance
  • Familiarity with standard forms of contract and the basics of commercial management
  • A professional accreditation such as MRICS, MCIArb, or equivalent is a plus
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities
  • A sharp analytical mindset with close attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, multidisciplinary environment
  • Proficiency with contract management systems and document control processes

Nice-to-haves

Extra qualifications or experience that could give you an edge include the following, rephrased from the core requirements above.

  • Additional professional credentials such as MRICS or MCIArb would be advantageous
  • Experience working on large-scale facilities management programmes and coordinating across multiple teams
  • Comfort using contract governance tools and more advanced reporting or analytics related to contracts
  • Experience communicating effectively with clients and subcontractors to reach practical outcomes

Pay, benefits and practical details

The role is full-time and onsite in Abu Dhabi, AE, with the job aligned to Six Construct’s operations under the BESIX Group. Six Construct emphasises values such as respect, excellence, co-creation, passion and unity, and these guide how the workplace functions and how teams collaborate to deliver projects.

How to stand out in this contract admin role

Put your most relevant experience up front on your résumé, focusing on how you’ve managed the main contract and major subcontracts, and how you’ve handled contractual correspondence in practice.

Be ready to show specific examples of claims management, variations, and EOT submissions you’ve navigated, including how you mitigated risks and kept projects compliant.

In interviews, be prepared to describe your approach to stakeholder management and contract governance, including how you’ve used contract management systems to track documentation and compliance.

Think of a thoughtful question to ask about the contract administration process at the FM programme level, such as which contract management system is used and how success is measured across the programme. This can demonstrate you’ve considered both the technical and the operational sides of the role.
