Full-time
On-site
Auckland, NZ

EC Markets is hiring a Customer Service Representative to join its New Zealand team, working full-time at the Albany office in Auckland. The company operates as an international financial markets business, offering clients access to CFD trading across foreign exchange, commodities, indices and cryptocurrencies. This role is office-based, giving you hands-on training and the chance to build a career in a regulated financial services environment.

The job isn’t a traditional call centre. You’ll become a knowledgeable point of contact for clients, guiding them through onboarding, platform use and ongoing support. A genuine interest in finance, strong communication skills and confidence speaking with clients by phone are the core attributes they’re looking for, with comprehensive training provided to bring you up to speed on trading platforms and products.

If you enjoy talking to people, like solving problems end-to-end and want to grow within an international group that serves New Zealand and Australia, this role could be a good fit.

A day in the onboarding and client-support journey

You will be one of the main touchpoints between EC Markets and its clients, speaking with prospective clients who registered online and guiding them through onboarding, account verification and the documentation required to set up their accounts. You’ll help them navigate the platforms and understand how the services work, laying a solid foundation for their trading journey.

Beyond onboarding, you’ll keep supporting clients by phone, email and live chat, answering questions, handling routine enquiries and keeping client records up to date in the CRM. You’ll liaise with internal teams to move applications along, explain funding steps for trading accounts and ensure a smooth, professional onboarding experience while staying compliant with regulatory, AML/CFT and client-protection requirements. You’ll maintain composure and professionalism even during periods of market volatility, and you’ll work closely with colleagues across New Zealand and the broader international business to deliver consistent service.

The must-haves and the nice-to-haves for this role

Here’s what EC Markets is looking for in the right candidate. The practical requirements fall into two buckets:

  • Strong command of English, both spoken and written
  • Clear, effective communication and the ability to connect with people
  • Confidence talking with clients on the phone and following up without being prompted
  • A polished, friendly and approachable manner in client interactions
  • Active listening skills and the ability to translate client needs into clear guidance
  • Attention to detail with client data and onboarding paperwork
  • Capacity to manage several enquiries and onboarding tasks while keeping accurate records
  • Ownership mindset to drive client issues through to resolution
  • Solid computer skills and a quick learner for new systems and software
  • An interest in financial markets, investing or trading
  • A reliable, organised, team-oriented work style
  • Must be comfortable working full-time from the Albany, Auckland office
  • Experience in customer service, client services, banking, financial services, telecommunications or a similar customer-facing environment
  • Familiarity with client onboarding, account opening, document verification or CRM systems

What you’ll get and how you’ll work

This is a full-time, office-based role at the Albany, Auckland office, not a work-from-home or hybrid position. You’ll receive hands-on training on EC Markets’ products, trading platforms, onboarding procedures and internal processes, guided by more experienced colleagues as you build your knowledge.

There are clear opportunities to develop your career within an international financial services group, with the chance to work with clients in New Zealand and Australia as the business grows. The role also offers practical experience in client onboarding, account services and financial markets, helping you gain a solid footing for a longer-term career in the sector.

EC Markets provides the necessary tools for the role, including laptop, equipment and phone access as required. The combination of training, real client interactions and cross-border exposure gives you a well-rounded start in financial services.

Tips to stand out when applying for this onboarding-focused role

Lead your resume with any customer service roles, especially where onboarding, account setup or CRM use were involved. Show how you supported customers from first contact through to completion, and mention any experience with verification or documentation processes.

Demonstrate the must-have skills with concrete examples: describe a situation where you communicated clearly over the phone, followed up to close a request, and kept detailed records or notes in a CRM.

Be prepared to talk through onboarding steps, how you would help a client navigate a platform and how you stay calm and professional when things get busy or the market moves quickly. You may also be asked to discuss a time you handled a difficult client issue and what you did to resolve it.

Ask a smart question about practical growth: for instance, inquire how success is measured in the first 90 days, or how the team collaborates across New Zealand and Australia as the business grows.
