A day in the life at Fit4Less Hamilton Centre

Your shift revolves around keeping the club safe and inviting. You’ll perform cleaning and inspection tasks according to established guidelines, ensuring the space feels fresh and safe for members, staff, and visitors. While you’re on the floor, you’ll interact with members in a friendly way as you handle cleaning duties and point people toward the right services or equipment.

You’ll help members and guests understand membership options and the amenities the club offers, including any automated or virtual ways to access the facility. You’ll keep the lines of communication clear by following standard procedures to report any issues or deficiencies so the right action can be taken promptly. On top of daily routines, you’ll stay on top of weekly and monthly tasks and training materials to keep your operations aligned with brand expectations.

In addition to service duties, you’ll support a safe, respectful environment that matches Fit4Less’ brand. You’ll welcome everyone with warmth, assist with access and processes, promote available memberships (including Black Card options), and help the team maintain a courteous atmosphere throughout the day. When problems arise, you’ll escalate them to the manager using the standard process and help ensure incidents are documented and resolved.

Tips for making your case

Put your education status up front on your resume, noting that you have a high school diploma or you’re actively pursuing one. If you hold WHMIS and CPR-A + AED certifications, list them near the top so hiring teams see your readiness to handle safety and emergency tasks.

Show how you prove the must-have skills with concrete examples. Describe a time you worked as part of a team to complete cleaning or maintenance tasks, or how you helped a member with a membership question on a busy floor. If you can cite a specific moment when you kept calm under pressure and still delivered friendly service, that’ll stand out.

For interviews, be ready to discuss how you approach guest interactions on the club floor, how you balance cleanliness tasks with customer service, and how you handle reporting issues using standard processes. You may be asked to describe a situation where you escalated a concern to a manager and what the outcome was.

End with a smart question that ties to this role: ask how success is measured for a Fit4Less Host at the Hamilton Centre and how often on-floor training or refreshers take place. You could also inquire about the team’s approach to the “everybody cleans” mindset and how you’d contribute to keeping the club welcoming during peak times.
