GoodLife Fitness is hiring a part-time Fit4Less Host for the Kingston Norwest club. This onsite role centers on friendly member and guest services, plus keeping the facility clean and comfortable while guiding people through automated and virtual options. The position is a real vacancy at an established gym brand, and it’s a good fit for someone who likes helping others in a health and fitness setting.

The company behind Fit4Less aims to deliver a friendly, clean, and automated experience for members. The host role supports that vision by blending customer service with practical club maintenance, ensuring everyone can enjoy a safe and welcoming environment. If you’re drawn to gym culture, enjoy steady tasks, and want a job that combines service with operations, this could be for you.

If you’re comfortable working in a gym, value punctuality, and want a role you can grow in, you’ll likely feel at home here. This description is for an existing vacancy.

A day on the gym floor

On a typical shift, you’ll keep the club tidy and safe by performing cleaning tasks to the brand’s standards and following established guidelines for cleaning and inspections. While you’re on the workout floor, you’ll interact with members, lending a friendly hand as you carry out these tasks and reinforcing the idea that everyone helps keep the space clean.

You’ll also follow a cadence of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and trainings to stay aligned with the club’s expectations, and you’ll report any deficiencies through the standard process so the right actions can be taken. In addition, you’ll support member experiences by guiding people through membership processes, amenities, and the automated or virtual options the club offers, including promoting black card memberships.

What you’ll need to start

  • A high school diploma or progress toward completing one
  • At least one year of teamwork or volunteer experience
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • WHMIS certification
  • First Aid, CPR-A, and AED certification
  • A demonstrated work ethic and willingness to put real effort into tasks
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure and handle stressful situations
  • A commitment to meeting the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers
  • Efficient use of time and a commitment to doing things promptly

Nice-to-haves that can help you stand out include a background in collaborative work or volunteering and the ability to communicate clearly in both spoken and written forms, plus a track record of staying composed and managing time well in busy environments.

Pay, perks and practical details

The role pays at minimum wage, with an expected annual total compensation of 14,200 CAD, determined by the total number of scheduled hours per year. The position is part-time and onsite at Kingston, CA, with a path to advancement within Fit4Less. A free fitness membership and a fun, energetic atmosphere are listed as part of what you’ll experience working there.

Tips to strengthen your application

Put your education and certifications up front. Lead with your high school status (or progress toward completion) and list your WHMIS and First Aid/CPR/AED credentials, then show any relevant teamwork or guest-service experience. Tie your resume to this role by naming customer interactions and cleanliness tasks you’ve handled, plus any memberships or promotions you’ve helped with.

Demonstrate how you prove the must-have skills in real examples. Describe a time when you supported members on a floor while performing cleaning duties, kept tasks on schedule, and escalated issues using the standard process. The goal is to show you’re reliable, communicative, and customer-focused while working with a team.

Be ready to talk about interview scenarios. Have a few stories ready about staying calm under pressure, managing multiple tasks, and collaborating with coworkers to meet club standards and member needs. Tie these to the duties of greeting members, educating them on memberships, and promoting automated options.

Ask a targeted question at the end. For instance, inquire how the club measures cleanliness standards day to day, or how the host role collaborates with the manager on customer-service escalations to ensure consistent member satisfaction.
