Job Description

Location: Geraldton Port
Hourly Rate: $72.07 per hr + Superannuation 
Roster: 7 Days, 7 Off, 7 Nights, 7 Off - Even Time
Type: Permanent Position 

We are seeking a Fixed Plant Electrician to join our Port Operations team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, fault finding and reliability of fixed plant and electrical infrastructure supporting our bulk commodity handling operations. You’ll play a critical part in ensuring plant availability, safety compliance and efficient day-to-day port operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, procedures, and standards; ensure compliance with legislative requirements and workplace health and safety.
  • Work Planning & Execution: Plan, prioritise, and execute tasks as per daily work orders, including corrective maintenance and capital works projects.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Inspections: Conduct inspections, fault-finding, and testing on fixed plant and associated electrical equipment, including 12V and 24VDC systems and CCTV apparatus.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records, complete log book entries, provide progress updates, and report incidents in a timely manner.
  • Supervision & Training: Oversee apprentices, including log book sign-offs, and foster knowledge-sharing within the team.
  • Shutdowns & Coordination: Assist with shutdown procedures, LOTO implementation, and liaise with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Housekeeping & Site Maintenance: Ensure site cleanliness, maintain MCC areas, and uphold high housekeeping standards.
  • Autonomous & Teamwork Capabilities: Work independently while coordinating with other teams and departments when required.
