Advice for applicants
Lead with your forklift credentials and any warehouse experience you have, especially if you’ve logged hours on stand-up, reach or push-pull equipment. If you can, open your resume with a brief note about your certification and the exact equipment you’ve operated, plus your six-month experience window.
When you show your must-have skills, back them with concrete examples. For instance, describe a time you loaded or staged shipments, verified counts, or performed a daily equipment check and how you kept records accurate for inventory tracking.
In interviews, expect questions about safety and compliance, how you follow OSHA and MSDS standards, how you handle load verification and damage reporting, and how you manage daily inspections and equipment maintenance. Be ready to discuss your experience assisting in physical inventories and how you stayed organized in a busy warehouse setting.
Ask a focused question to learn about the role's growth potential and the team dynamic. A good example would be to inquire how monthly performance bonuses are determined, what the backup group lead responsibilities look like on a day-to-day basis, and whether there are opportunities to deepen forklift skills or advance into other leadership tasks within the shift team.
