FSQA Manager (Afternoon Shift)

A steady hand on the FSQA helm
Day to day, the role centers on steering the execution of FSQA programs, including HACCP and BRC requirements, so that safety standards align with corporate goals, customer expectations and regulatory rules from bodies like CFIA, Health Canada, USDA and FDA. The manager works to shape a constructive team environment through clear communication, feedback and ongoing development, while guiding audits and using data to recommend practical enhancements to the facility's quality and safety systems.
Leading audits, whether internal, customer, or regulatory, forms a large part of the job, and the manager coaches FSQA staff to perform at a high level. They oversee hold and release activities tied to pathogen testing and non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are tracked and resolved promptly. Building strong partnerships with CFIA and other external organizations is a key part of the role, as is supporting change management when processes, programs or systems evolve. The position also has you ready to step in during any product recalls and to participate actively in facility leadership meetings.
Must-have requirements
- Experience with the Modern Poultry Inspection System (MPIP) and a solid grasp of animal welfare best practices
- A university degree or college diploma in chemistry, microbiology, food science or a closely related field
- At least five years of leadership experience in a food manufacturing setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to build productive internal and external relationships
- A proven track record of influencing stakeholders to reach desired outcomes

Pay, benefits and practical details
The role offers a base pay range of 96,000.00 CAD to 141,000.00 CAD per year, plus an annual short-term incentive. The base salary offered may vary based on skills, experience, education, training, job-related knowledge and other organizational requirements. For part-time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours, and the position also carries eligibility for Maple Leaf’s annual short-term incentive plan.
Work is onsite in London, and the position follows an afternoon shift.
