Freudenberg Group is looking for a Global Contract Manager (f/m/d) to own contract management across its worldwide operations. This full-time, onsite role sits in Weinheim, Germany, and is designed to bring structure, governance and risk awareness to a broad range of commercial agreements. The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.

The position suits professionals who bring in-house contract experience, a solid legal mindset and a knack for turning complex requirements into practical business solutions. If you enjoy shaping global standards and partnering with teams across regions, you’ll likely find this role rewarding.

In this capacity, you’ll partner with business units as well as Legal, Compliance and Product Compliance to elevate governance, risk management and contractual integrity across the organization.

Across borders and contracts

You will guide the ongoing design, deployment and refinement of Freudenberg's contract management framework, ensuring it tracks with global standards while serving local needs. A core part of the job is steering the replacement of the current Contract Management System, covering design, migration and change management. You’ll shape the global contract lifecycle, establishing review stages, approval workflows and signature authority to keep processes consistent across regions. When contracts arrive, you’ll assess them from legal and commercial perspectives, flag potential risks and coordinate follow-ups with Legal, Compliance or Product Compliance. You’ll help make governance, compliance and risk management more transparent, while driving digitalization and process excellence. Finally, you’ll set and propagate global standards and best practices, and you’ll train international stakeholders on contract management processes and compliance requirements.

What we’re looking for

Must-have qualifications and experience:

  • A master’s degree in business or commercial law, economics with a strong legal focus, or an equivalent credential
  • Significant in-house contract management experience within a legal department
  • Solid understanding of contract law paired with practical business judgment
  • Experience in compliance environments, ideally with exposure to anti-trust/competition law, governance or risk management
  • Proven project management ability, especially in process optimization, digital transformation or system implementation
  • Ability to balance legal requirements with pragmatic business solutions
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, fluent in both German and English (written and spoken)
  • Experience coordinating across multiple regions or globally
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with contract lifecycle compliance management systems is an advantage

Location, hours and practical details

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Weinheim, Germany, with work performed on location.

Guidance as you apply

Lead your resume with your in-house contract management background, especially any global or multi-region initiatives you’ve driven.

When you describe your must-have capabilities, share concrete projects where you designed or rolled out a global contract lifecycle, led a system replacement or worked closely with Legal, Compliance and product teams. If you have metrics from prior implementations, include them to illustrate impact.

For interviews, be prepared to discuss how you balance legal requirements with business priorities, recount a risk you identified and how you mitigated it, and show how you’ve trained or advised international stakeholders on contract processes.

Ask a targeted question about the role’s scope, for example: what are the current top priorities for the global contract management program, how is success measured in the first year, and how does the team collaborate across regions with Legal and Compliance?
