Advantage Home Health is looking for a compassionate Physical Therapist to join its Home Health team in Newville, PA. The position is PRN and onsite, with daylight hours and a flexible schedule designed for clinicians who want to focus on meaningful patient care in people’s homes. This is a chance to work with a company that supports therapists who value independent practice and real impact in their community.

As a Home Health PT, you’ll enjoy the autonomy to manage your calendar while delivering one-on-one therapy directly where patients are most comfortable. You’ll help individuals regain strength, mobility, and independence in their own homes, all while collaborating with a supportive clinical and leadership team.

Therapists who prefer a balanced mix of day schedules, flexible hours, and hands-on patient contact tend to thrive in this role, especially those who appreciate seeing the life-changing difference a focused, in-home therapy plan can make.

One-on-one care, in patients' homes

In practice, you’ll provide skilled physical therapy aligned with physician orders and a customized plan of care, evaluating each patient and shaping a treatment program that aims to improve function and quality of life. Your work centers on understanding mobility, strength, balance, and safety to tailor interventions that fit daily routines.

Documentation is a key part of the job, with timely and accurate notes on evaluations, treatments, and progress. You’ll collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team to ensure outcomes stay on track and care remains coordinated. Education is built into every visit, as you guide patients and caregivers through exercises, safety techniques, and ongoing goals, and you’ll supervise Physical Therapist Assistants when appropriate.

The role supports ongoing professional growth within a team that values patient-centered results and clear communication, so you’ll have a chance to contribute to meaningful, one-on-one patient care in the community you serve.

What you need to bring to the role

  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program
  • An active Pennsylvania Physical Therapist license
  • Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain it after hiring
  • A valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Home health experience is preferred but not required

Pay, benefits and practical details

Compensation is paid per visit and is competitive, reflecting the value of in-home, one-on-one care. Scheduling tends to align with daylight hours and your availability, with the option to pick up additional visits as your calendar allows.

The role offers supportive clinical and leadership teams, plus opportunities for professional growth and development. Working onsite in Newville, you’ll have a setting that emphasizes meaningful interactions with patients and families while you maintain a flexible, clinician-led schedule.

Advantage emphasizes that therapists can make a lasting impact on patients and families in their own communities, backed by a culture focused on Better Service, Better Quality, and Better Results.

Advice for applicants

Put your Physical Therapist credential and your Pennsylvania license up front on your resume, and immediately mention your availability for PRN, daylight-hour work, and home-health settings.

Demonstrate the must-have skills with concrete examples: show how you’ve documented patient progress, coordinated care with physicians and nurses, and guided patients and caregivers through exercises and safety practices. If you have CPR credentials, note their current status and your readiness to renew if needed.

Prepare for interviews by walking through a real case where you evaluated a patient, created a plan of care, and tracked progress over time. Be ready to discuss how you adapt care when a patient’s home environment changes and how you collaborate with other members of the care team.

Ask a focused question about the role’s daily rhythm, such as how scheduling is determined for PRN therapists, what support looks like when supervising PT Assistants, and how the team measures the impact of in-home therapy on patient outcomes.
