Internship
On-site
Melbourne, AU

Mammotion is looking for an HR & Admin Specialist to join its Melbourne team for an onsite internship. This role blends people operations with practical office administration, giving you a chance to learn by doing across recruiting support, onboarding, employee records, and workplace setup. It’s a good fit for someone who enjoys coordinating details, helping employees, and keeping the office running smoothly in a small, hands-on environment.

Based in Melbourne, the role invites you to contribute to both people-related tasks and facilities work. You’ll partner with the HR and office teams to move recruiting forward, support new hires and departures, maintain records, plan team events, and tackle day-to-day employee questions. If you like seeing projects through from start to finish and you’re comfortable handling a mix of admin duties and people tasks, this internship could be a solid stepping stone in your career.

A practical start in HR and office life

On a typical day, you’ll help with recruitment logistics such as posting ads, screening CVs, and coordinating interviews, then move into onboarding and offboarding support, handling contracts, orientation activities, and exit conversations. You’ll also help keep employee records accurate and assist with transitions from external employment to in-house arrangements, a key part of sustaining smooth operations as the company grows. In addition, you’ll help plan and run team-building activities and social events, which helps the team stay connected and engaged.

In the office setup and administration realm, you’ll contribute to the process of fitting out and decorating the workspace by coordinating with contractors and suppliers and tracking progress. You’ll procure furniture, equipment, and supplies, and ensure the office infrastructure, like internet, power, and cleaning, meets daily needs. During the initial setup phase you’ll handle on-site tasks such as receiving deliveries and overseeing basic works, then transition to daily admin duties like managing supplies, mail, visitor reception, and meetings, while also supporting facilities and basic maintenance. You’ll also gain exposure to local vendor management and expense tracking to help you understand the full picture of an office operation.

The must-haves for this internship

  • 1–2 years of experience in HR operations, admin, or coordination
  • A certificate, diploma, or degree in HR, business, or a related field
  • Fluent English and Mandarin proficiency
  • Australian working rights (full work rights, such as PR, citizenship, or a valid work visa)

Tips to help you stand out for this internship

Lead with your HR operations and admin experience. On your resume, place examples of recruiting support, onboarding, and maintaining employee records at the top, and include a concrete note about any involvement with EOR transitions to in-house arrangements to show you understand the full employee lifecycle.

Demonstrate your bilingual capability with real-life examples. If you’ve communicated with teams or candidates in English and Mandarin, describe the context, the size of the audience, and the outcome to show you can bridge language and cultural gaps when coordinating interviews or handling employee queries.

Be ready to talk about office setup and vendor coordination. If you’ve ever contributed to a fit-out project or worked with contractors and suppliers, prepare a short story about how you tracked progress, managed timelines, and ensured essential infrastructure was in place for a functional workspace.

Ask a thoughtful question that reflects the specifics of this role. For instance, you could ask how the team currently handles the transition from EOR to in-house employment and what vendors they rely on for office needs, which shows you’re thinking about the practical edges of the job and how you’d contribute from day one.
