Job Summary:

The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems within the property. This role ensures that HVAC systems are functioning efficiently, safely, and in accordance with industry standards. The HVAC Technician will be involved in troubleshooting system issues, performing routine maintenance, and assisting with major repairs to ensure optimal comfort and air quality within the property.

Job Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioning, heating units, ventilation, and cooling systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC system malfunctions, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant issues.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure system efficiency and reduce breakdowns.
• Conduct regular cleaning and servicing of air filters, coils, and ducts to maintain air quality.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes when performing HVAC installations and repairs.
• Handle refrigerants and other hazardous materials following legal and safety standards.
• Record and maintain accurate logs of service calls, repairs, maintenance, and inventory usage.
• Collaborate with other maintenance team members to resolve any facility-related issues that affect HVAC systems.
• Provide recommendations for upgrades, replacements, or improvements to HVAC systems as necessary.
• Ensure full compliance with the company's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) requirements.
• Stay informed about the QHSE policy, as well as its objectives and targets.
• Adhere strictly to all HSE guidelines, instructions, and procedures.
• Immediately report any hazards, observations, or incidents to the line manager.

Experience and Competencies:

• In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, including components such as compressors, heat exchangers, ductwork, thermostats, and refrigerants.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as gauges, multimeters, and leak detectors to troubleshoot HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Experience in installing, repairing, and maintaining both residential and commercial HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of HVAC controls, electronic systems, and energy-efficient technologies.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental protection standards, and proper handling of hazardous materials such as refrigerants.
• Familiarity with energy management systems (EMS) and building automation systems (BAS).
• Certification in HVAC Technology or a related field from a recognized institution.
• 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair, ideally in both residential and commercial settings.
