In this role, you'll:


Working within our People Planning and Capability Team at NSW Trains, the primary purpose of our Instructional Designer is to provide professional and consultative services in the design, development and implementation of blended engaging development and training resources. 


You are responsible for researching, documenting, designing, developing and monitoring business process and development programs within a quality assured framework, to ensure that NSW TrainLink staff have the competencies necessary to undertake their work in a skilled, safe and effective manner. 


Based on defined change impacts and training and learning requirements you will work with stakeholders across NSW TrainLink and Transport for NSW teams to design and implement capability development programs and related competence based readiness activities.

 

 

About you


You will take responsibility to work with teams to support the development and delivery of complex information and documentation for varied audiences. 


You will provide consultation services and expert advice in all aspects of learning design, instructional design and effective delivery methods to enable the development of innovative and responsive learning programs. 


You will apply expertise in the field of adult learning and instructional design to analyse learning requirements and design and develop a broad range of engaging, sustainable and scalable blended learning programs for varied audiences. 


You will project manage and undertake a range of curricula design and development projects including conducting functional task analysis and risk-based training needs analysis, to ensure the strategic curriculum meets the needs of impacted audiences through the provision of high quality products and services within an agreed quality assurance framework, timeframes and budgets. 


You will design and develop effective blended training courses and programs including the design of the overall concept and development of curriculum, materials, training aids, lesson plans, and assessment and evaluation systems and techniques, for diverse and geographically dispersed workforce, in an industrially sensitive and safety-critical environment. 


You will also help promote collaborative partnerships to encourage successful design of capability and competency strategies and ensure alignment with all compliance requirements.


This fixed term full time position will end on the 31st March 2027.
