IT System Operator (all genders)
EdenredEdenred, the mobility solutions group behind UTA Edenred, is looking to add a hands-on IT System Operator to its Technology division in the Frankfurt area. The team count runs into the hundreds across Europe, and this role is based onsite in Kleinostheim, Germany, in a full-time capacity. It’s a good fit for someone who enjoys keeping complex IT services running smoothly, with a clear eye for process, reliability, and collaboration in a multilingual environment.
UTA Edenred was founded in 1963 and grew to become part of Edenred SE. The company helps customers refuel, charge electric vehicles, manage tolls, and run digital fleet solutions across more than 40 countries. If you want to contribute to simpler, more efficient mobility and you thrive in an international setting, this could be a solid match.
The role sits in the Technology division, with a focus on delivering steady IT operations and supporting the systems that keep the UTA Edenred services performing well. It’s a chance to apply your technical know-how in a hands-on environment and to partner with teams across Europe.
Steering IT operations at the edge of mobility
Your day-to-day blends hands-on system work with careful process thinking. You’ll handle the billing workflows for UTA Edenred and ensure everything is processed accurately and on time. In addition, you’ll administer and support the operational use of the Axway communication servers, keeping them healthy and responsive for daily tasks. You’ll also take a close look at current operational processes, identifying opportunities to streamline activities and lift both efficiency and quality. Monitoring is a core part of the role, using tools to watch cloud applications and systems and catching issues before they impact users. When problems do arise, you’ll help pinpoint the root causes and contribute to sustaining reliable system availability over time.
What you’ll bring to the team
The job requires a solid educational foundation in business or technology with an IT focus, or an equivalent qualification. You should be comfortable with cloud concepts across PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS, and have hands-on experience with APIs and common data-transfer protocols such as SFTP, SSH, HTTPS, and AS2. You’ll need a background in programming or scripting (for example HTML, JavaScript, PowerShell, or Batch), plus familiarity with IBM AS400, SQL, and MS Office. Strong analytical thinking and an independent, structured, and precise approach to work are essential, as is fluency in both German and English to collaborate across an European network of teams.
- A completed business-oriented or technical degree with an IT focus, or an equivalent qualification
- Solid knowledge of cloud models (PaaS, SaaS, IaaS), APIs, and common data-transfer protocols (SFTP, SSH, HTTPS, AS2)
- Experience with programming or scripting languages (HTML, JavaScript, PowerShell, Batch) and with IBM AS400, SQL and MS Office
- Strong analytical abilities and a self-driven, methodical, and careful work style
- Fluency in German and English for working in an international setup
Pay, perks and practicals
Flexible working hours are part of the package, supporting a healthy balance between family, personal time, and work commitments. All employees receive a monthly top-up to the Ticket Plus City Card, worth 50€, and there is a clear emphasis on mobile working options, so you can choose to work from home or on site with the team as needed. The role is full-time and onsite in Kleinostheim, in the greater Frankfurt area.
Advice for applicants
Lead your resume with your most relevant IT operations and cloud experience, plus any billing or financial workflow work tied to tech services. A concise opening section that highlights your degree or IT-focused qualification and your practical exposure to cloud environments and API work will catch a recruiter’s eye.
Back up your claims with concrete examples that demonstrate the must-have skills. Describe a project or role where you used cloud models (PaaS/SaaS/IaaS), APIs, and data-transfer protocols, and mention any scripting or programming work you did (for instance HTML, JavaScript, PowerShell, or Batch). If you’ve worked with IBM AS400, SQL, or MS Office in a similar context, share a short outcome or metric.
Be ready to discuss how you’ve handled monitoring and incident response. The job calls for monitoring cloud applications and systems with tools like SolarWinds and similar solutions, plus the ability to identify disruptions and contribute to keeping system availability high. Prepare a real example of a outage you helped resolve and what steps you took to prevent recurrence.
When you get to the interview, ask about the current monitoring stack and how Axway fits into daily operations, or what the biggest near-term bottlenecks are in the billing workflow for UTA Edenred. A practical question tied to the role shows you’re thinking about a tangible impact from day one.
