Bupa Te Puke Country Lodge is seeking a Laundry Assistant to join its team. This role is listed as full time onsite, but described as casual with a rotating Monday to Sunday roster and shifts 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. You will handle residents’ clothing with care, operate laundry equipment, keep to daily schedules, maintain clean and dirty areas, and monitor linen supplies while ensuring residents are treated with dignity. Experience in a commercial laundry is preferred, but training is provided; for applicants, highlight empathy, reliability, flexibility with rotating shifts, and the ability to work independently. This is a casual role, hence, there are no guaranteed weekly hours:
- Rotating roster covering Monday – Sunday.
- Hours of work – 8:30am to 2:00pm.
Where You Will Make an Impact
- Ensuring all care is taken with the residents' personal clothing and returned to owners.
- Operating all laundry equipment as specified.
- Meeting of daily schedule to keep laundry up to date and advising Manager of any issues that impact on the maintenance of this.
- Maintaining clean/dirty delineation areas within the laundry.
- Monitoring of linen supplies and advising line manager of replacement needs.
- Ensure all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
What About You
- Previous experience working in a commercial laundry is preferred, however not essential as we will provide training.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, enthusiasm, strong empathy, and a passion for making a difference to our residents’ lives.
- You will be a team player, with the ability to work independently, and who is prepared to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into whatever needs to get done.
- Have reliable transport or travel arrangements.
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
