Night care on the Whitemud unit
In this position you’ll plan and deliver nursing care that aligns with each resident’s Client Service Care Plan, including the safe administration of medications with proper verification and documentation and careful monitoring of how residents respond. You’ll carry out nursing procedures in accordance with CLPNA standards and the organization’s policies, ensuring standards are met in every shift. Communication is a core part of the job, as you’ll regularly engage with families, the broader healthcare team, and external agencies to coordinate care. You’ll supervise Health Care Aides and assign or delegate tasks to maintain high-quality care, while helping to nurture a collaborative, safe and respectful environment for residents and staff alike.
What this role requires
- Active, current registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
- Up-to-date CPR, First Aid and BLS certifications.
- Evidence of person-centered care and respectful collaboration with residents and their families.
- Strong emotional intelligence paired with clear, effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently when needed and to contribute as part of a team.
- One year of nursing experience in a seniors’ assisted living setting is preferred.
