Running the floor and coaching the team

The job blends coaching, scheduling, and day-to-day store tasks, with a strong eye on controlling expenses and shrinkage while ensuring the store’s policies and procedures are followed.

You’ll balance people leadership with hands-on responsibilities, ensuring the store looks welcoming, tasks are prioritized, and the guest experience remains central even when the store gets busy. This is a role for someone who enjoys working with people and who wants to contribute to the store’s overall performance on a regular basis.

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to work up to 38 hours per week in a retail setting

  • A track record of delivering strong guest service and participating in merchandising and inventory control

Extras that help you stand out

  • Experience coaching and developing team members
  • Familiarity with inventory control practices and loss prevention
  • Comfort using store systems to manage stock and sales data
  • Flexibility to support varied shifts and peak periods

The role is onsite; there are no travel requirements specified, and the posting does not list work authorization details beyond the general equal-opportunity statement above.

Advice for applicants

Lead with your retail leadership experience. Start your resume with a concise summary that highlights how you’ve guided teams, improved guest service, and contributed to merchandising or inventory control in a retail setting.

Show, don’t tell, the must-have skills. In your experience section, provide concrete examples of when you coached staff, managed scheduling, reduced shrinkage, and kept expenses in check, tying each example to measurable outcomes if you can.

Be prepared to talk about the day-to-day realities of the role. You’ll likely be asked to discuss situations where you balanced guest service with store policies, how you trained team members, and how you handled peak periods while maintaining standards for merchandising and inventory control.

Ask a smart, role-specific question. For instance: what would success look like for the Senior Assistant Store Manager in the first 90 days, and which KPI or process would you want this person to focus on first?
