Spirit Halloween is looking for a Sales Associate to join a Grande Prairie, CA location. This is a full-time, onsite role at a Spirit Halloween Consignment Store, where the independent owner/operator is the employer. Your application will be routed to the consignment operator for consideration, and if hired they’ll be responsible for wages, benefits and employment terms while you follow their policies and procedures.

The position supports a seasonal store, with you working alongside the Store Management Team to handle the setup, merchandising, sign creation, pricing, and the pack-up and teardown that wrap the season. You’ll keep Guest Services to the company standard, help drive sales, and take care of housekeeping and loss prevention duties. The role is open to applicants who are 16 or older and comfortable with physical tasks that come with temporary retail spaces, including climbing ladders and moving fixtures, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing or walking for long stretches.

In short, this is a hands-on storefront job for someone who likes a busy seasonal environment and wants to be part of a temporary shop that carries Spirit Halloween merchandise, while the employer remains the independent owner/operator of the consignment store.

What you’ll do on the shop floor

From the first day, you’ll help prepare the seasonal store space, assisting with setup and fixture placement and stepping in during teardown when the time comes to close the unit. You’ll keep guest-facing areas welcoming and well organized, assisting customers as they browse and making sure displays stay tidy and attractive as sales flow in. The role also includes practical merchandising tasks, such as supporting sign creation and pricing, and you’ll handle basic POS duties to support checkout and return processes. You’ll work with the team to keep the store secure and compliant by following loss-prevention guidelines.

Alongside these duties, you’ll participate in the daily rhythm of a temporary shop, ensuring that guest services meet the required standards and that the store presents a professional, inviting face to shoppers. The physical side of the job is real, with ladders, fixtures and occasional heavy lifting part of the routine, but you’ll have teammates and a manager to lean on during peak moments.

What you’ll need to bring

The following is a quick view of the must-haves and the nice-to-haves for this role. They’re stated to help you shape your resume and interview prep.

  • 16 years of age or older
  • Willingness to participate in the seasonal store cycle including setup, merchandising, pack-up and teardown
  • Ability to climb ladders, install fixtures, and lift or move up to 50 pounds, plus stand or walk for up to eight hours
  • Experience delivering guest services in a retail setting and keeping to company standards
  • Familiarity with basic POS tasks and some awareness of loss-prevention practices
  • Prior retail or guest-service experience, especially in seasonal or consignment environments
  • Comfort handling merchandising duties and signing tasks as part of store presentation
  • Ability to follow the policies and procedures set by the consignment operator
  • Any related safety or inventory-control experience that could help with the store’s routines

Advice for your application

Lead with your guest-service or retail background at the top of your resume, and make sure your age comes across clearly if you meet the 16+ requirement. Tie your experience to the specific tasks in this role, like helping with store setup, merchandising, and POS work, so the reader sees you can handle a seasonal storefront from day one.

When you describe your must-have skills, back them up with concrete examples. If you’ve helped set up a temporary shop, run a POS terminal, or participated in loss-prevention efforts, spell out what you did and the outcome, numbers or feedback you’ve earned are a plus.

Be prepared to talk about working within a Spirit Halloween Consignment Store environment and how you’d follow the consignment operator’s policies and procedures. The interviewer may ask how you’d handle peak times, sign waving duties, and guest-service demands while keeping the store compliant and organized.

Consider asking about the seasonal setup timeline and how responsibilities are split between Spirit Halloween merchandise guidelines and the consignment operator’s policies. A smart question shows you’re thinking about the practical flow of the role and the partnership between the brand and the operator.
