Job Description

We’re recruiting for Programme & Assistant Managers around Lower Hutt, Wellington

  • Programme Manager (This is a Fixed Term role for Maternity cover commencing in August) – minimum 15 hours per week
  • Assistant Programme Manager – minimum 10 hours per week
  • Multisite Assistant Programme Manager (Boutlcott & Newlands)– minimum 6 hours per week

Working Hours (Monday to Friday):

  • Before School Care: 7:00am – 8:30am
  • After School Care: 2:30pm – 6:00pm (availability from 2:30pm is essential)
  • Additional hours may also be available during our Holiday Programmes (school holidays), for those looking for extra work.

About the Role

No two days are the same at sKids! You’ll be part of a team creating a safe, fun, and engaging space where children can thrive.

Depending on your role, you will:

  • Deliver and support a variety of activities including arts & crafts, sports, games, cooking, and creative play
  • Supervise and engage with children, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment
  • Use positive behaviour guidance to support children with different needs
  • Build strong relationships with parents, caregivers, and school staff
  • Support or lead the day-to-day running of the programme (Programme Manager and Assistant Programme Manager roles), ensuring smooth operations from set-up through to pack-down
  • (Leadership roles) Guide and support team members to deliver a high-quality programme

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and caring individuals who enjoy working with children.

You’ll bring:

  • The legal right to work in New Zealand
  • Reliable transport to Boulcott & Newlands sites 
  • Availability from 2:30pm on weekdays (essential)
  • A positive, energetic, and can-do attitude 
  • Experience in childcare, education, coaching, camps, or similar
  • Leadership or supervisory experience (for Programme Manager and Assistant Programme Manager roles)
  • Confidence working with groups of children
  • Applicants applying for Programme Manager and Assistant Programme Manager positions must be 20 years or older, in accordance with the Social Security (Childcare Assistance) Regulations 2004
