Advice for applicants
Lead your resume with the exact degree field and the fact you meet the two‑year minimum in avionics or in‑service aircraft support, then show how you’ve used data to drive decisions. If you’ve worked under regulated aviation frameworks, call that out early and name the standards you’ve touched.
Back up your claims with concrete examples: point to a project where you contributed to data collection, assessment and reporting, the specific analyses you performed, and the resulting recommendations or decisions you influenced. Don’t forget to mention any stakeholder updates or presentations you delivered as part of the work.
Be prepared to discuss a design project from concept to delivery, including how you balanced customer, regulatory and schedule requirements. Have a short case ready that demonstrates translating analysis into actionable guidance and your approach to communicating complex avionics topics to varied audiences.
When you get to the interview stage, consider a question about how the team balances safety, quality and customer priorities in the P-8A program, or about the processes used to improve data collection, assessment and reporting and how those improvements affect decision-making.
